ESPN Reporting Lute Olsen Steps Down

why do you say that? their recruiting sans the last year or two has been elite right?
Here's the new coach's job description:

Win at a top 10 level at a program that has only been relevant under one coach, who established PAC 10 supremacy largely because UCLA was in turmoil for the majority of his tenure. Oh, and to do so you have to consistently outrecruit and outcoach Ben Howland, Tim Floyd, Herb Sendek, and Mike Montgomery. Good luck on that one.

Didn't think about it til I read Gary Parrish's column, but I attended Lute's last game as a coach. I must admit, it puts a smile on my face to know I was there for his final loss.

I wish O'Neil could have just stayed their to begin with if Lute was never going to come back.
I don't. I like Kevin. Arizona'a athletic department is run by incompetent clowns and spineless flunkies. We've seen the last of them as a college hoops power.

Looks like dunlap wanted to be named the fulltime head coach:

Arizona passes on Dunlap, picks Pennell as interim coach - NCAA Division I Mens Basketball - CBSSports.com

I've heard dunlap may be out as an assitant now, leaving UA with an interim coach who was a radio analyst last year and a staff that is two assistants short
Dunlap deserves whatever happens to him. Anyone who saw how Olson treated KO, Pastner, and Simon and still went to work for that pompous douche did so at their own peril.

I agree. Why did the moron wait until practice starts for the season to announce he was hanging up the old jock strap? Sounds like he either is developing Alzheimers or has some sorta anti Zona vendetta going on. Speaking about Olson of course.

ESPN just reported that Olsen had suffered a stroke at some point during the past years and Doctors believed it had affected his personality and decision making ability.

Saw that as well. Must've been a minor stroke.

Oddly enough, my Mother-in-Law went through something similar a couple of years ago. Nobody could figure out what was going on and then one day it was "Hey . . . you're a stroke victim." I always had an image in my mind of a stroke being the type of thing that incapacitates, but apparently it's not uncommon for people to walk around for a long time without knowing they've had one.

I agree. Larry Finch, ex player and coach of the U of Memphis had a major stroke and is confined to a wheelchair and can't talk. Of course a stroke can kill. The light or minor strokes seem sorta like the onset of Alzheimers.

It happened to my grandfather.
