ESPN says Texas A&M, Mizzou, Clemson, FSU to join SEC

Sorry but I will have to see a source to believe this. UNC/DUKE will bring nothing to the football table and lets be honest that is where your money is. I probably woudln't even want to watch those games. Another Texas school is not going to join unless it's Tech and I don't see that happening.

You don't think there is $ in Duke-UNC basketball. It would make the SEC the premiere basketball league in America.

The future OOC schedules for SEC teams will have no choice but to become a joke (some already are). No way UT could ever schedule a Cal or UCLA again and then go through the SEC schedule.

This year will probably look like the future with your Buffalo and Montana type teams on the OOC schedule.

Also, less evening games on CBS now that 2-4 more teams will be on the SEC TV schedule and more ESPNU games.

This sucks, imo.

You have forgotten that the SC plays other sports too.

Agreed...Half the posters here think a kid chooses a school just based on fight songs, colors, and NCs won 50 years ago.

Look at Clemson and FSU's recruiting classes the past few years and tell me conference affiliation mattered. Hell, I don't know how Vandy and Ole Miss aren't annual NC contenders. And did you see the recruiting SCe was doing pre-Spurrier? Talk about out-kicking your coverage...

What's the deal with Oklahoma? They didnt want to jump into this? I think the big 10 will go after them now

The Oklahoma Legislature will not allow Oklahoma to move to any conference without Oklahoma State. It would require a package deal and that would not be worth it over a TV market population of 3.8 million, the smallest in the SEC.

Clay Travis is reporting that Fla., S.C, and Georgia will be voting against expansion in their respective states. He just posted this on FB.

Is there a chance that if a super conference is formed that we lose a team or two, because as soon as it starts taking place other conferences will immediatly follow suit, and if who would you be willing to sacrifice.

Each of those schools and Auburn will also vote against adding Florida State and Clemson.

That makes sense...I'd bet on either Duke, NC, or VaTech being the 14th as new states and TV markets.

I'm getting the suspicion that somebody just wanted to sling some crap at a wall.

Someone may have already asked this, but how bad does this hurt us with Santos? Will he bail on us for TAMU now?

Reportedly, Florida State and Clemson are not part of the SEC wish list. They do not offer anything to the TV demographics.

Reportedly, the SEC is hotly pursuing North Carolina and Duke in the east and another Texas school or Missouri in the west.

Mizzou, Duke, and UNC would add good football and great basketball to the conference.

Another Texas school will likely be Houston or TCU, with Texas Tech getting a look.
