ESPN: Stoops will score 100

Poops is extremely jealous of the SEC and hundreds of million $$$$ of revenue it generates annually.

I would hope that we take some knees out before they get anywhere near 100. I would hope that we do that before they get to 50.

Why wouldn't he?

It would help the Big 12 and Oklahoma to put them in one of the four-team playoff spot. (Saying they run the table the rest of the year). They will try to run up the score hoping UT down the road this year will upset some SEC team (maybe UGA, Bama, or UF). It may happen, we did beat 11 win USCe last year. Bob Stoops and Oklahoma will then use a UT upset, if they upset anybody this year to get them a spot in the playoffs.

Thoughts?

(Edit: I am not saying will we get blown out, I am hoping our young, talented Team #118 puts up a fight.)

I guess you guys really racked up a lot of wins against A&M and Missouri when they weren't in the SEC (and weren't very good pre-SEC). I may have miscalculated but I think Stoops only is .500 and has been outscored by SEC schools at all locations.

I really don't know how the guy counted Stoops' SEC wins in Norman, but are you implying Mizzou and TAM only became good teams when they joined the SEC?

Remember guys, it was a talking head at eSPIN that made that remark and eSPIN also has OU on their upset alert. So, I wouldn't put too much credence in Stoops even thinking of scoring two "half a hundreds" on their opponents.

Just eSIPN stirring the pot.

I guess it depends on your definition of "running up the score". For example, if OU is up 17-21 points late in the 4th quarter, I would be shocked if they are throwing the ball deep downfield. In almost every case, Stoops wants to get out of the game with a W and little to no injuries....thus, we would most certainly run the ball in that case. Now, it's still on the defense to stop us on a running play late in the game. And with a lead, Stoops is going to take a knee if it's inside two minutes if the game is out of hand.....that's his history.

On ESPN college football daily Todd Maddox says this is a statement game for stoops. Says that TN better look out because "Stoops will hang 100 on them if he gets a chance."

Man I hope we come out swinging and give them a fight. I'm tired of hearing how my vols are going to get steamrolled!

:popcorn::finger3::rock:

Well this may top the wildcats running back that says the wildcats are going to walk out of the swamp with a win.
Rather laughable considering the streak.

Quite frankly this was only done for the sole purpose to get more people to watch.

If he is giving you a 100 points, take it and mortgage the house!

I wish I could find someone this dumb, I would sell everything I own (house, cars, guns, empty out all bank accounts, take out all retirements, etc.) and bet it confidently. :dance2:

Getting closer to Kick off . . . Im getting more confident. I'll have us winning by Saturday night!

Well, the Okie said the Stoops' Sooners were 12 - 0 against SEC teams in Norman OK. But, 11 of those wins were against A&M (7) and Missouri (4) when they WEREN'T even a member of the SEC.

A&M is clearly better than before. A&M has been in the SEC two full years and ended the 2012 season being ranked 5th in both polls and in 2013 they were ranked 18th in both polls. From 2000 - 2011 (in the Big 12), they finished in the in the top 25 ONLY ONCE IN 12 YEARS - ranked 19th or 21st depending upon which poll you use.

In 2013 Missouri finished 5th in both polls. Before their 2 year stint in the SEC, they finished 5th only ONE OTHER TIME IN THE LAST 50+ YEARS!

IMO, both teams are clearly better than before, and will continue to get better with the money/recruiting /exposure advantages that come with being a member of the SEC.

Everything depends on our offense. If they can make plays and get some decent drives the defense will do their part.

People need to realize that its pretty simple to ssee in the years of history not to argue whether the SEC is dominant or not. Its right there, use your google search and look at the last what 15 - 20 years. Does that mean that NO ONE else can ever rise to the occasion and should never be respected absolutely not. OU worked to get where they are, and good for them. But seriously the top of the SEC is so far ahead of all the other conferences its not even funny. So argue all you want but yet, history will prove itself once again.

and the whole mid-tier SEC team vs non-conference team. Of course, they arent GREAT that why they cant hang with the big dogs like auburn alabama and some years LSU or FL. Like it or not the SEC is dominant, does it mean that they never can lose, their not perfect, but history will prove itself even with this playoff system.

Vols vs. Oklahoma - mark my word if OK cant blow us out today we will win. I think they do out class us, but they had better show up, this team seams to have a much more competitive attitude and much more speed and talent then previously and they will take what they can get. Hoping Oklahoma is sleeping on us.
