HARDY HAR HAR go ahead and stroke your conference ego. Just like stoops said, the middle of the road SEC isn't any better than any other conference. Of course that is where Tennessee has been the past decade, so your going to take offense to it.
Convenient SEC logic - leaving off the Bama '13 win. Ole Miss was Stoops first year, and we went 7-5, and they won on a last second kick. LSU and Florida were competitive games, NC games no less, and home games for LSU and Florida, respectively. Bama in '03 was ranked, I believe around #20 when we played early in the year. It's easy to make the narrative fit whatever agenda you're trying to push. Just look at Finebaum and ESPN.
A&M is obviously an SEC "powerhouse", coughwhocouldn'tbeatuswhentheywereintheBig12cough. That SEC patch gives SPECIAL POWERS, so I'll give you that one.
You should combine A&M and Missouri into Stoops' win loss record. They're the same teams the last two years as they were in the Big 12.
Cracks me up how simply being in the SEC completely changes the narrative of those two also-rans.....
The SEC patch does give you special powers when it comes to recruiting the best players in the country. The best players generally want to play in the best conference that is KNOWN for putting players in the NFL. I'm not trying to knock the Sooners as I have great respect for their program and tradition, but the Big 12 is not even close to on par with the SEC, but really no other conference is. That's not me being a homer because I fall into that negavol group that believes OU will comfortably win Saturday night. Gene Stallings knew what he was doing when he was pushing for A&M to join the SEC. Now all those Texas recruits can stay close to home and play in the best conference in the country. It's a fairly easy sell to a recruit. OU is a top 5 team in my book, but it's a fact that they don't go through a grinding schedule like teams in the SEC do. There's a reason why there's so many SEC teams ranked in the top 25 almost every year, and so many SEC schools recruiting classes are highly ranked each year also. The numbers don't lie.
Of course there is. ESPN drives the polls and they have all that money invested in the SEC Network. Why do you think all those horrible Texas teams remained ranked for the past few years?
There's not a single team in the SEC that could come into Norman this weekend and be guaranteed to win.

Sorry for the mistake. I don't try to deceive anyone, the facts are my sources were incorrect. Sooners did beat Alabama in 2013. Soooo, that makes a 4-4 record. Some people would say that is pretty good....I guess! Not in the SEC!!!Convenient SEC logic - leaving off the Bama '13 win. The UT played an inspired Bama, not to mention a long time rivalry.
OU played an uninspired team. Anyone who watched the game could see that.

They couldn't put up 50 points on LA Tech and barely put up 50 on Tulsa. Tulsa...
But yeah, I'm sure they're going to drop a 100 on us...
On ESPN college football daily Todd Maddox says this is a statement game for stoops. Says that TN better look out because "Stoops will hang 100 on them if he gets a chance."
Man I hope we come out swinging and give them a fight. I'm tired of hearing how my vols are going to get steamrolled!
