ESPN predicts we go 4-8 next year and win only 1 conference game.

6. Tennessee Volunteers
Projected finish: 4-8 (1-7)
Chance to win SEC: 0 percent
Chance to finish 11-1 or 12-0: 0 percent

"Program progress is measured by most in terms of wins and losses, but Tennessee fans would be wise to focus on other signs of improvement this season. Why? The schedule may be too burdensome for that improvement to show up in the win column. The Volunteers face Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama, Missouri and South Carolina -- all five of which rank among the top 20 in our projected FEI rankings (out Monday on Insider) and three of which rank among the short list of legitimate national championship contenders. Tennessee's defense is the biggest liability to pulling upsets in any of these games, as it allowed explosive drives (averaging at least 10 yards per play) on 18 percent of opponent possessions last season."

Is this from the insiders article that says South Carolina is going to win the East?

Edit: link was added to original post after I asked this.

ESPN guys couldnt name a dozen players on our team. who cares.

lots of mizzou love. esp for a team that has way more turnover than anyone in the SEC.

Mssou, S. Carolina, Florida, Vandy and Georgia all winnable in my eyes. Still not ready for Alabama and Oklahoma. We will be closer to 8-4 then 4-8 my opinion 7-5. GO VAWLS

i agree. theres way too much respect given to team like Mizzou, Vandy, and UF right now. its all based on last yr. Those teams lost as much as UT and a few teams lost alot more. I dont believe in UF or this " Fixed Offense" like the "experts" are talking about. Carolina has no proven DL or anybody in the secondary but nobody from ESPN is bringing that up.

Hate to break it to the ESPN folks but we are not going 4-8 this year. There is enough talent to finish 6-6.

Hope for 6 and 6 and if we get 7 or 8, coach Jones will be coach of the year in the SEC. Every year we are either young on the DL and OL and then the next we have no QB or no skill players, 2 more top 15 recruiting classes will take care of that, we just got to hang in there this year and hope for 6 and 6, then we can start reaching for the top.

ESPN only recognizes and gives credit to their favorites. ESPN hasn't got a clue Vandy has lost everybody plus Head Coach and recruiting class and they still get picked UT.

exactly. Vandy loses as many starters as UT. they lose a few others on the 2 deep. Sure they return their OL and RBs but those guys were last in the SEC in rushing last yr. They have a new staff, brand new schemes on both sides and yet we are picked to finish 4-8. They talk about our schedule but vandy is not beating USCe, UGA, Miss St, Ole Miss, UF, Mizzou, and UT. At best, they get 1 of those games.

There will be 1 team in both the East and West that will surprise, hope we are the team in the East, if we go 4 and 8 you are talking about a long and hard up hill battle, would be a hard sell to recruits, now on the other hand if we can get 7 and a bowl win we will be turning 4 star recruits down.

UT sucked last yr and they were a fluky endzone fumble and block in the back away from being 7-5 instead of 5-7 last yr. 4-8 is not happening.

Yeah Vandy wins 3-4 games at most. ESPN will be p*ssed off when Tennessee wins 7 games.

Doubt it will be 4-8 but it could get bad. The O-line is in a heap of trouble. The D-line is in rough shape as well. Slow and young in the SEC as a team is not a recipe for success.

We have got SC beat before we take the field we have gotten in there head, just like the Gators have gotten in our head, we could be 0 and 11 and either beat them or the game would come down to a field goal, we can thank the old ball coach for that, when he was at Florida he had our number now the tables have turned.

Ole Miss did ok starting about 6-7 Freshman. i dont think the O Line is as bad as some make it. Maybe the backup OL but if the first team OL stays healthy its not that bad. esp the interior. I agree with interior DL but the ends should be fine.

IMO, Utah St, Ark St, UTC, UK, and Vandy are wins. Surely CBJ can snag just one win from the remaining opponents who are not named Oklahoma or Alabama.

I'm not sure winning against them once in the last 4 tries would have us in anyone's head.

Also, this game's in Columbia, where they haven't lost a game since Oct. 1, 2011. (So they've won around 18 straight home games.)
