Biggest liability in pulling upset is Oline, not defense imo. Maggitt is back, AJ, Sutton, Coleman among others with exp. I look for better defense.

Things will be getting better little by little,I've got faith in CBJ. Imagine the situation the Vols might be in now if Tennessee would have beaten South Carolina and Mississippi State in 2012 and finished 7-5.

I think we can get to 6 or 7 no doubt, but it starts with U. State, if we can get that win we will be on our way to a bowl game IMO.

This is nothing - its just an estimation of how last years teams would do playing this years schedule. But as has been stated ad nauseum, the teams are very different this year with a number of programs who lost a lot of talent without the depth to replace it and a few teams like us who are replacing lackluster talent with potential stars. Whole thing is a bunch of irrelevant navel gazing.

Those who have a solid program (like Bama) will be pretty good this year even when losing top talent because their roster is so deep with stars. That is simply not the case with Vandy (or Missouri).

Finally someone posts something logical. 6-6 is the record I see us achieving unless we slip up on someone and go 7-5. So many VN posters let their emotions get the best of them. 8-4??? Really. C'mon man. Did you read op's post about our defense? In the SEC if you don't have speed at DE and LB, you are going to be shredded. I think our expectations should fall in line with reality and not our love for our team. I like having a senior QB leading our offense, but I am dreadfully worried about our poor defense and I don't see much improvement in that area next year. 2 years from now, I think 8-4 will be doable. Not next year. Let's finish 4th in the SEC East and congratulate our coach on a fine year and a bowl game. Reality.

Exactly. They some how forgot that Mizzou has lost virtually every player that mattered last season. I say 6-6 or 7-5. Our O will only get better through the summer and our D will look very different by the fall.

I say let them and everyone else think what they think. Let them sleep on us if they want they'll wake up in the 4th quarter after we put up 40 on them.

from reading posts in various threads, the only conclusion one would be able to reach is that no one is going to win the sec east because all the teams in the division suck.

This.

Add in analysts thinking the O-line was better than it was as well as losing so many seniors on the d-line. The same two lines that gave us 4 losing seasons in a row. I could walk 40 yards faster than some of them could run it.

The new lines will not be worse than them because they can move. 7-5 plus bowl win.

you do realize Maggit and Vereen are going to be one of the faster DE combos in the league,along with JRM at LB,who will be light years faster than Sapp...
