IMO Hooker has this beat UGA and win out and he will have it. Stroud cannot put a resume together to match that.

Yeah but who else was on his level? I feel everyone is leaning towards Shroud. As amazing as hooker has been, if loses to Georgia or in the SECCG and Shroud is undefeated I don't think hooker surpasses him unless OSU wins and Shroud is bad in several games.
The majority of Heisman voters will turn in their ballot before the SEC CG. It’s due the Monday after and they aren’t all gonna wait.

Tend to agree and don't forget our history with that award. Majors and Manning both should have gotten it, imo.
Everyone forgets the 3rd runner up we had, but Shuler wasn’t winning it that year anyway vs Charlie Ward, who was legit.

I don’t know anything about Lauricella’s competition that year so don’t have an opinion on it.

Didn't know that. Still, unless Hooker has a phenomenal game, going 11-1 and not winning the division vs OSU running the table I think it's Shroud.

I really think he'll be Tennessee's first Heisman.
Honestly at this point just needs to keep taking care of business and have a good game against Georgia. This is a bs political award so if Stroud has a good game against Michigan and wins he will get the award.

Streaks are being broken this year, we will see our first Heisman winner as well. Number 1, I think Ohio State will lose a game. Number 2, The voters aren't stupid, if Tennessee wins out or only has the 1 close loss to Georgia and Hooker plays well they will look at body of work against ranked teams. I dont buy the whole Tennessee always gets screwed crap. We (including myself) thought we were going to have to beat Bama and the refs but the game was called as evenly as possible. Times are changing and Tennessee will get the respect it deserves this year including Hooker. If Tennessee gets into the playoffs, even with 1 loss, Hooker will win.
The Heisman voters are the definition of stupid actually.

Really would be special if Hendon wins the Heisman but I think that if he finished 2nd in the voting that may endear him to our fanbase more given that we have had several of our great vol heroes like manning and majors finish runner-up behind less deserving winners.

I think Michigan is really, really good and may be the 2nd best team in the nation. If JJ mcCarthy has matured they very well might win that game in Cbus..... I don't think anyone can stop Ohio State from under 40 points but if they can ball control with their very good running game then it is possible. Again, can they do that against Ohio State's very good defense, especially the D-line.

I agree with you. I think people have gotten so used to saying and seeing Michigan overrated over the past few years (minus last year) that they just automatically assume they are overrated every year. They are actually pretty darn good this year. The QB change did wonders for them.

They voted to give the trophy to a defensive player instead of Peyton Manning... it was the only time a defensive player has won the trophy and it came in PEYTON MANNING'S senior season. They ain't giving it to a Vol.

They also screwed Johnny Majors.

If Hooker goes on the road and wins against Georgia that’ll be enough.

Yup. That's beating 2 college powers in the same year. It's his if he wins that game on the road. He's already had his Heisman moment when he made the 15 second drive.to win the game. It's not totally about record. It's about stepping up and being the man when you're called on.

Shroud has benefited from playing a weak schedule.

I don’t think he deserves it.

As much as I’d like for 1st team offense to be out
By half maybe Hook should light up the stat sheet for 4 quarters. It’s all about numbers anyway

I don't think so. Ohio state will win the big 10 and give it to Shroud because I think hooker has to literally win the SEC to get it and it's a harder path.
The ballots are due before the SECCG aren’t they? (Not sure)

I see what you are saying, but we got to get Milton a bunch of quality reps now. September 2023 will be here before we know it and we will miss HH in a big way. For the health of the program long term, going into the swamp and beating Florida to start our OWN streak is imperative.

I'd love to see Hooker get it, but unless he has monster games right up until the ceremony, most importantly the SEC championship game, they'll give it to a non-SEC guy this time if the numbers are anywhere close since the SEC has gotten the last three. OSU gets prestige points in awards like this. I could be wrong, and I sincerely hope I am. Would love for Hook to the first Vol to take home the hardware. Retire his number and add him to the ring of honor!

Pretty much but when has that ever mattered. How many times has Notre Dame been talked up only to get their asses handed to them? Northern voters actually think their competition is good up there. Legit Ohio State has one real threat their whole schedule and that’s Michigan. Shroud will win the Heisman if Ohio State beats Michigan even if Hooker is undefeated.
