Well said.I agree. Happy Birthday Greg Schiano, 56 today. We were vilified for not taking the failed Bucs coach who "rehabbed" under Urban Meyer, ESPN's pillar of moral turpitude. So, since Greg went back to the Scarlett Knights he was 3-6 in year one; 5-8 in year two; and just completed a stellar 4-8 campaign. Believe me, ESPN truly wanted those numbers to be ours. Remember, ESPN is NOT journalism. ESPN is a network that fills the airwaves with woke propaganda in between sporting events. Tennessee and our fan base are reviled because we have minds of our own and use them. Wouldn't change a thing. Go Vols!
SIAP...I thought he could show more respect for the Vols considering the position he has at ESPN..But apparently not during this show....

I will be honest, there are is still a lot of media hatred out there about the Greg Schiano situation. USA is, more and more, a nation of elites and if you go against the elites, you face backlash.
This is spot on. The "ESPN hates us" narrative is so ridiculously ignorant. As if all their anchors and analysts sit around plotting against usJust not true about the nation of elites. If there are, they definitely don't reside at a company like ESPN, who yet again is making budget cuts.
ESPN does not hate our Vols. This is EXACTLY why some of our fans got called Crybabies.Stop being so thin skinned
, it's exactly what he wants and proves him right. I'd TN and the SEC was so hated by ESPN, they wouldn't have bid on and won rights to broadcast our games in the coming seasons. He baited some of ya'll and ya'll fell for it. Don't give that assbag the proof that makes him right. I know this world has become soft but damn it's getting beyond ridiculous. Many fans fell hook, line and sinker. Exactly what he wanted and he got it!

Luginbill's comments have absolutely nothing to do with politics and a nation of elites. It's about his intent to illicit emotional responses from the thin skinned faction of our fan baseI agree with your ESPN comments. They generally don't hate Tennessee but there were a lot of people that did NOT like the Greg Schiano mess.
Regarding a Nation of Elites, you are not keeping up with politics.
The thing is, it is a fact that there is some history of enmity, bitter rivalry and/or bad blood between Tennessee and Michigan, Penn State, Syracuse, even Ohio State and Notre Dame. Could it be that significant fractions of the ESPN administration, commentators and other staff, not to mention viewers in large metro areas such as New York and Chicago, have strong associations with the above-named schools? This is spot on. The "ESPN hates us" narrative is so ridiculously ignorant. As if all their anchors and analysts sit around plotting against us
Give some examples of the "bad blood" between UT and the schools you mentioned. I know John Cooper accused us of using illegal cleats in the rainy Citrus Bowl. Other than that I am not aware of any other eventsThe thing is, it is a fact that there is some history of enmity, bitter rivalry and/or bad blood between Tennessee and Michigan, Penn State, Syracuse, even Ohio State and Notre Dame. Really?Give some examples of the "bad blood" between UT and the schools you mentioned. I know John Cooper accused us of using illegal cleats in the rainy Citrus Bowl. Other than that I am not aware of any other events
Those seem like petty grievances that shouldn't trigger any real "bad blood" feelings. Yes, it is a little paranoidReally?
First of all, there is general denial of SEC superiority over the Big 10. So, if folks like me remember bowl losses to Texas and Oklahoma in the late 60s, you can bet the midwest yankees still remember azz whippings to Michigan by Jason Whitten's Vols, and us kicking OSU butt when they had Eddie George and Orlando Pace. Penn State remembers bowl losses to us, and Notre Dame knows Johnny Majors owned them. Syracuse still bitches about the critical pass interference call in our NC year, but, their boy failed on that play, so sad. With the Bristol game vs. VA Tech, we took from Michigan the brag of largest regular season crowd, and they remember us taking away guys like recruit Gray and transfer DT Solomon. And if Milton was not a roaring success with them, you can bet they are wishing him to fail with us. Whiney-azz OSU still bitter about Hyatt getting the Biletnikoff over, I don't know, maybe 3 or 4 of their "more deserving" receivers. Then the stupid Schiano drama that spanned multiple yankee schools from PSU to OSU to Rutgers. We have lots of folks up that way who wish us ill; not paranoia, simply history.
Crybaby Vol Fans? NEVERFor starters, who cares what he says or thinks. Secondly.. There definitely are some cry baby Vol Fans, just like their is in every fan base. Just like each fanbase, including our Vols that have a lot of really great fans. Then there's the annoying group every fanbase has. We definitely have our small share of unintelligent, obnoxious fans that make us all look bad. I've run into plenty of Ala fans I'd love to roundhouse in the throat and there's those small group of Vol fans that are just as ignorant! I'm not letting Lug's live in my head rent free. Could care less about what he thinks of us.
Oh but they DO. I have received a photo of their secret pre season planning meeting of their writers and pundits. It is held every summer in a secret room beneath the venue of SEC media daysThis is spot on. The "ESPN hates us" narrative is so ridiculously ignorant. What bowl losses would Penn State remember? Maybe regular season losses in the 70s, but they have a pretty good track record against Tennessee in bowl games.Really?
