I do see, and I’m saying it’s stupid. You are hung up on statistics and ignoring my point. Which is fine, but I’m not going to go round and round with you. There are many factors to consider and they’ve all been discussed extensively. No use in going through it all again. Our numbers are down from last year, but Heupel is still Heupel and his offensive system is unmatched. No offense gets more out of less than ours. How many players on our offense this year will play in the NFL? I’ve got 2. We started 9 different OL due to injuries and yet we still averaged over 450 ypg in the SEC. That deserves praise, not criticism. But it’s not the best offense in the country… down significantly from the previous season soo people are bound to complain? It’s apparent it’s very hard for you to comprehend. 2022 we were a top offense, 2023 we were not. See how that drop off would make people question things?
Witten was a converted defensive end and had to learn the position in college at a time where tight ends were just blockers for Coach Fulmer. He did nothing his 1st year, 2nd season 168 yards during the season and then a big game in the Citrus Bowl 125 yards, 3rd season was his breakout year he led in receptions yards 493 but only became the main target after Kelly Washington went down (4 games over 400 yds). He declared for the draft and the rest is history. So yes, I would say Witten was criminally underutilized during his time here , in the same vein as Kamara, and didn't become great until he got into the NFL.Witten says hold my beer.
