Evan Russell not available tonight (Friday) now AVAILABLE

I don't know the answers to your questions except the last one. I guarantee you they fear a lawsuit.

ESPN’s new name next year, “Evan Russel’s Vol Network and other sports of interest”

He could easily claim loss of future income due to slander, may not win if it went to court however it may make the settlement even greater.

ESPN would do much better simply covering sporting events rather than trying to become the event, it's a similar problem with parts of the local sports media, they want to be the news rather than simply and objectively reporting the sports news, which happens to include Tennessee athletics. Everybody is trying to make a buck on a bunch of late teens and early twenty years olds playing intercollegiate athletics.

ESPN is currently a money losing component of the Disney entertainment conglomerate, which rather than simply entertaining people and their families, now considers themselves the ultimate authority on a myriad of social and political issues and ESPN is in the same bucket now and should be sued and disciplined by the SEC, the FCC, the university of tennessee, with a corresponding boycott of all their sponsors, then and maybe then, that crowd would realize, go woke, go broke. The whole network is an embarrassment to the conference and should be called on the carpet now.

I’m glad Jason, his dad, cleared it up. I hope some of you are truly ashamed of where you went with a young man who has been nothing but a perfect example of a teammate and a Vol from day one. He needs our prayers and support.
Agreed. Knowing Evan and his family as close as our family has over the past 5 years, the speculation and rumors were tough to watch. There is none better than the Russell family.

This clown Arkansas Twitter troll is still laughing about the rumor he spread online and the damage he did. I will never understand why people are so cruel and get enjoyment out of trying to damage someone’s reputation. Just cruel. No apology for the BS he spread. Just laughing about it and claiming himself as the best Twitter troll of all time.

I deal with anxiety myself.
Finding a medication that works and doesn’t make you sluggish and tired all day can be an issue.

Hope you can find something that helps you. I watched a friend who had a stressful sales job get addicted to benzodiazepines. It was very serious and getting him through the withdrawal program was hell. Be careful with those drugs.

I saw that.

Some of these trolls need to be physically removed from society. Maybe then they'll shut up.

Yes but it's gotten worse via social media. The unrelenting spread of false info online has been a problem for sometime, but moreso Facebook and Twitter. And yes, it happens elsewhere, but it's magnified online, and many times when you see a fake story on tv somewhere, it originated on social media, which is also what happened in this scenario. And when people repeat fake stories without verifying first, it's because they're seeing something they want to be true. I'm amazed at how people will believe literally anything they see online if it's something that backs up their POV. It happens all the time with politics and it's clearly what happened here given the guy is an Arkansas grad and homer.

I agree. I just fall more in the camp of holding myself to a higher standard and knowing what is a lie or a fact and think others should do something similar

What's more is some idiotic UT fans like Jon Reed are egging him on calling it the best troll of all time. Like seriously? He just dragged the reputation of your player, and to an extent the entire program, through the mud and ran it over with a garbage truck. At some point people need to grow the hell up and realize words actually *do* have consequences. Yes the ESPN guys should've known better, but that doesn't negate the fact that people spread crap like this about UT players all the time. Arkansas fans have been accusing us of using PEDs and illegal bats all season long.

True, and I hold the ESPN people to a higher standard than a random Twitter troll. They should've known better, but they were more interested in seeking out confirmation bias instead.

Stress and anxiety are insidious. I get panic attacks, runs in my family, and like many other people here and elsewhere thought I was dying the first time it happened. Sometimes I know what causes them, sometimes they come out of nowhere. If something similar happened with Evan and he ended up in hospital thinking he was having a heart attack I can understand all the concern and suddenness out of everyone.

Luckily its nothing 'serious', unluckily you get to spend the rest of your life managing yourself so you dont get too spooled up. Not really sure whats going to happen if I ever have a heartattack for real.

I agree. Legit media shouldn't use Twitter as sources at all. But, as a mentioned before the media has valued being first before being correct and until that mindset changes **** like this will happen again
