Even More Obamacare Follies

We're all pulling for buddy, here's to a speedy recovery..

I appreciate it 69. I think me making that thread about my illness and all the kind posts by so many fellow posters shows we may not actually know one another but we sincerely care for one another.

No. I still am doing a little business. I had to hire some help to run the business in Janurary which I did not want to do but had to or close shop.

Don't know what your business is like. Most I've seen are too stressful for someone trying to get over a significant illness. But, I know a few cases where the person's business kept them going with something to do rather than sit and dwell on their condition. Granny not tired of having you around more :)?

I scaled way back a few years ago to a one man show just to stay a little active. I kept about 5 customers that I have worked several years. I hired a guy to handle it now and try to stay in touch with my customers a little. They have been very receptive and stuck with me through this. They know if there is a problem they can contact me otherwise the just deal with my guy. I can do a little but no way could I service these accounts by myself. I have days I never get out of my pj's.

How could granny get tired of having me around? Come to think about it, she has been going shopping more than usual.

This is funny. Told my gal about you being sick from volnation and how we are concerned when you started the thread. She said, "But you don't even know these people". I had to laugh and say, "Yes I do...That's ole Gramps, He's a gooden".

Oh forgive me then, I just figured you were well into your Medicare years. All the senility threw me off, sorry.

No problem Hoggy. You are forgiven. I have discovered that some posters such as yourself needs to be looked over when they get confused. bless your heart, Ms Hog has to be a good woman, that be a fact. :whistling:

Your examples aren't quite the same: (1) they refer to people who are freely choosing to express their opinions, and (2) the subject matter is not something that has become state or federal law.

A Senator's job, on the other hand, is actually to voice his opinion on proposals that may in fact become laws. If he did not voice his concerns, then he would not be doing his job. Just curious... would you rather have a Senator who never takes a position either way on proposed Bills?

Also, unless I missed it in a previous post I don't believe you ever addressed my question to you...

They are the same. He is a representation of his district. Meaning he is elected because of his beliefs and people feel his beliefs were what they wanted.

Second. The law did not require him to cover his son under his insurance. That was his choice. No one forced his hand.

And as for your question. It's a trap. Lol..... Anyone who had student loans would be a fool not to take it. But that would make them a hypocrite if they firmly voted no. Myself included. However... I would say this. If I'm a voting member of the senate and I voted no on that bill. And my son had student loans. I would either pay them off for him or he would be paying them off. I wouldn't support him getting the free way out because no one should.

We agree, she is a great woman much better than this ******* deserves. She's probably a lot like Mrs Granny.

BTW I'm glad to see your old ass around here more often.

One issue I have with the article is this crock of crap
"While private health-insurance exchanges have operated smoothly and satisfied customers for decades"

PFFTTT.... BS

This was in 2003. So to say that it's "satisfied" customers for decade is a crock of crap.
Healthcare System Ratings: U.S., Great Britain, Canada

"One-fourth of American respondents are either "very" or "somewhat" satisfied with "the availability of affordable healthcare in the nation," (6% very satisfied and 19% somewhat satisfied). This level of satisfaction is significantly lower than in Canada, where 57% are satisfied with the availability of affordable healthcare, including 16% who are very satisfied. Roughly 4 in 10 Britons are satisfied (43%), but only 7% say they are very satisfied (similar to the percentage very satisfied in the United States).

Looking at the other side of the coin, 44% of Americans are very dissatisfied with the availability of affordable healthcare, and nearly three-fourths (72%) are either somewhat or very dissatisfied. The 44% in the United States who are very dissatisfied with healthcare availability is significantly higher than corresponding figures in either Canada (17%) or Great Britain (25%)."

Insurance costs go up every year but there's a normal percentage increase and then there's this.

What's taken place due to obamacare isn't normal.... Insurance companies are now saddled with covering those with preexisting conditions and etc....
they didn't have the hard data with which to calculate their rates so they made estimates and assumptions, which is why the article said.....
When insurers were tasked with pricing a brand new insurance marketplace in 2013, many had to make their best guesses as to both the frequency and severity of claims stemming from newly covered people.
