Everyone should realize we are witnessing a revolution in football

Lol at this entire thread. 'Get better players than everyone else and beat the hell out of 'em' is hardly revolutionary and certainly not a secret. He's just able to pull it off.

Here's a far fetched question:

In a football game full of 5star clones at each position. Both teams have the exact same players at every position, but one team chooses to be a predominantly downhill running team and the other chooses to be a predominantly downfield passing team....same defenses. Who wins?

Are their dogs orange or red?

Right, recruiting well is no secret. Neither is playing dominating defense and a punishing run game. Everyone has known for a long, long time thats the way you build a campionship team. But very few coaches have been able to build championship programs, that continually regenerate year after year, without eventually being caught cheating. Maybe Saban is cheating, but he hasn't been caught yet. And even blatant cheaters have occasional down years, due to attrition, recruiting busts, coaching turnover, scandal, whatever.

Look at the difference between Saban's model and Auburn a couple years ago. It was plain to see that Auburn team was built on one player, and when he left, so did any chance at a championship. Who is Saban's best player? Not sure there ever is an MVP, because they all play their own roles so well. You can't shut down one player and hope to win. And it's like that every year. They had 4 first round picks and numerous others left, yet you'd never suspect it watching them play.

I just think Saban is ahead of the curve in dealing with the current NCAA environment. His system produces perpetually strong football teams that compete for championships no matter who they plug in.

People said the same thing about:

Jimmy Johnson
Bobby Bowden
Steve Spurier
Bob Stoops
Pete Carroll.

Great coaches existed before him and they will after him. He is good, but he is far from the first to have a run like this.

Bowden won 2 titles in 40 yrs, Spurrier has won 1 in 30 yrs, etc. Saban has won 3 in 16 yrs (possibly on his way to a 4th) in the toughest conference CFB has ever seen. Few in history have his track record.

Exactly. And Carroll won 1 in a weaker conference before having to bolt when his programs indescretions were exposed.

Jimmy Johnson was pretty good but again, weak schedules, almost certainly a scandal waiting to happen, AND remember what happened in the 86 sugar bowl. Ever seen a seasoned Saban team get whipped like that?

Stoops system works in the BIG12 but not likely in the SEC. His 1 championship was his second year, and every time he's faced a legit team in a championship, Okie was embarassed.

Nick Saban is a football god. This man has worked his entire career with a singular focus of answering every question and achieve greatness. His model is THE MODEL, that we will see EVERY program in the country trying to emulate for the next couple of decades. Bama is fortunate to have him.

Would be nice to have some of his pupils within your organization.

Easy to do when you have the $ecruting machine he has had at LSU and Bama. Yes he is a good coach but one of the dirtiest ever. His day will come.

Now that you have made that statement, back it with some proof.

He was asked a very stupid question by a very stupid reporter. Everyone knows he is single-mindedly focused on football perfection and doesn't suffer fools at all. Hard to argue with the results.

Not sure where I was arguing with the results. Matter of fact I said he's a great coach. Just said he was a douche and an angry man. Which he is.

Bringing up cheating, is kind of silly. Every major program cheats in some form, some just do it better than others. Imo jmo

50 players on Alabama's roster come from the state. Not too hard for him to get the best when half of his team is from within the state.

the state of alabama HS football vs. Tennessee HS football certainly doesn't hurt Bama's recruiting.

I have several family members who live in Tn. and they agree the hs football in tn isn't on the same level. Just curious, how many players does tn have on the team from the state of tn. Whenever I watch a game, I see very few from the state.
