That's cool and all, but dude went 0-9 against the upper echelon of the Big East when he inherited the two-time defending conference champion. Why should I expect him to beat the upper echelon of the SEC, especially after taking over 5-7 Tennessee?

Thigpen, Martinez, Azzani and Graham are great recruiters and so is Elder. Last I checked the entire staff isnt Cincy. Thats 4 coach's that werent at Cincy with Jones. You drowning bro, you got anything else, Bammer?

but that being said.... I like the things CBJ is doing, I hope he can win and beat Saban, that is the question

Not to mention his first season at Cincy he was left with nothing. He has consistently shown he's a better recruiter than the guy coaching at ND right now. Anything else????

It seems to me some of the posters on this board have a bigger problem with those of us who wanted Gruden as our next HC, than we do of having CBJ...

I am giving CBJ the benefit of the doubt, but none of us would say he was on our radar when he was named as HC....

Who knows, I can't change anything that happened, especially the hire, so I HOPE HE WINS, not because he was my first choice, but because he is the coach of my Vols

Pead, Binns, Wolfe, and several other NFL players are "nothing?" You think a 23-3 record in the two years prior didn't help with recruiting? Make some more excuses for him, please.

You still haven't answered my question. Why couldn't he beat a single good Big East team in 3 years?

Well then that obviously settles it. Do you know he wasnt offered by Meyer? Urban is a tool just like Saban and once coach's have a few seasons with them they look to move on. Azzani is a great recruiter, has zero to do with him coaching with Urban. I will get you a life jacket Honey Booboo

Wrong. Cinci won a conference title in 2011 and finished 10-3.

2010 was a bust. But '11 and '12 have been very successful years under Jones, including the conference title.

He was 2-1 against Strong alone and got beat this year in OT.Lets see 2010 he was starting from scratch and lost 31-29 to Okl.
2011 Coach of the yr. Beat Louis, NC St, S.Fl, Pitt, Syr and Vandy.
2012 beat V.Tech, Uconn and Syr. Lost to Louis in OT and Rut by 7and and thats repla ing his starting QB and top RB. Not too shabby to me. Whats your arguement exactly? Sounds like you dont have one and are looking for a reason to ***** and not support him.

He never beat a Big East team with 8 or more wins. He played 9 of them, and lost every single one. Why?

It's a dead period until the first of the year.

He can't recruit currently except for one phone call per week so he may as well be glad-handing alumni and trying to mend some of the bridges Dooley burned.

I am far from being ready to sip the kool aid from the Reverend Jones but the guy can't do much about recruiting until the first of the year.

What he does in January in showing his recruiting ability is going to be crucial to his success here.

I have been impressed, so far, with CBJ. He seems like a high integrity, high energy type of guy. My hope is that his efforts translates to wins for Tennessee. If the former players are impressed with him, that is all the validation I need. GO VOLS!! :salute:
