I take exception with that. Had we retained Fulmer, our class was still going to fall. The post-2005 recruiting class was the worst I've ever seen.

And I'm looking at Auburn's list right now... Not sure they are really doing that great. Five 4 star commits and a ton of 3 stars.

What I don't get is why scout and rivals rate teams like Auburn so high when they mostly have thee star ppl. Its like they look at getting 30 3 stars is better than getting 10 4 stars and 10 3 stars. Its about quality not quanity. Teams like the real USC can't sign many ppl because they don't have room and the ones they have are 4 or 5 stars. To me that's a top 5 team. Look at the average ratings of committed players per team not how many they have. Its stupid

Total points are how they are listed right now. The more commits you have the more points you can have(depending on star value). AU has 25 right now UT has 18.

Quality of class will not be determined until after they sign.

Folks, its no wonder kids are de-committing, any recruit that reads this type of crap in EVERY thread on the board, can only believe they are going to be villified and boo-ed or worse.
Now we have a staff most NFL owners envy and we can't give them 2-3 yrs. Like it or not CPF took at least 2yrs from us. These guys are going to get attention from other places and all they will remember at this rate is that we hated on them, 60 days in.
I really hope we are still true TN fans and not just unpleasable cry-babies. For now we seem the latter to anyone looking in. I know it sounds weak but fans, players, coaches, support functions must hold strong together now more than ever. Stop all the bashing, as tough as it is, its 10x's better than last year. Now we have hope...........

Screw total points. So u are telling me that a team that signs 40 2 stars should have a better ranking than a team that signs 10 5 star players just because the total points is higher. Lol get real. Should be average star rating. For example USC has a average somewhere around 4.6 right now, 40 4 stars would be a 2.0

we just lost oku. come on man there isn't much anymore to be pumped about. by morning there will be 7 or 8 sec teams ahead of us in recruiting. it's not good. i think the bar was set to high and the coach's set it. he said nobody was going to outwork them. right now i would have to say they got outworked by auburn, not entirely the coaching staff's fault, but reason to be dissappointed. regardless it isn't the start they wanted or us fans wanted.

Im with you. I was in the gym today and a couple of bammers said, "Man, recruits are leaving Tennessee for Auburn" and they both got a good kick out of it.

On the other end of the spectrum, it is still to early to rate this class. We will have to see how the development goes with these guys.

A lot of the experts will pick at the end who they feel had the best class. What I was referring to was Rivals Team Rankings on the website. If you look at the list, it is based off of total points, which you can make up a lot if you have 25 or more commitments. 5 stars get you more points than a 3 star. but if you more commits you can score more points. It is not an average. They do have a column for average stars in a class.
