Face it we suck again

I mean they lost Darnell Wright & Jerome Carvin, so I thought they were our biggest area of concern coming into the season… & that was before we lost Mays for several weeks.
AND one more starter for at least one game.

Gotta believe the squad is comprised of higher character guys than those leading the doomsday emotionally challenged outburst of prognostications.

Those that run on expectations rather than hope AS FANS are always at risk. Those that pile on players who are probably experiencing a sadness you can only get while on the field and part of the loss are much bigger losers than the team.

Those that think taking a screen name, or buying tickets, or flying flags or slapping on magnets makes them valuable fans are wrong. Some of us don’t think their value add can even reach break even. Then there are the trolls. Free speech is what it is.

Those that attack without even questioning whether the guys we have seen can get better or if there are others that can step in and do better are more than likely members of one group or the other. The guys on the field at least failed under pressure, weak willed posters hit the post button against air.

I think VN sees the future pretty clearly (at least for the past 22 years or so).
They see the past. They’re schizophrenic about the future.
Last year we were a playoff team after the bowl game and going to just reload. Now we’re never winning another sec game

Yep. One thing that I look forward to is seeing how this team responds going forward. Given our obvious limitations and the schedule that remains, it will be a tremendous test for our coaches. We're gonna find out if this head coach and his staff are what we think/hope they are. Not saying that we have to win our remaining games, but if we see improvement, energy, effort and quality play, I can accept defeat. Can't accept the kind of piss poor effort that we saw last week. Let's see who we can count on and who needs to move along.
I’m not so sure. I still think this coach is learning from experience. I expect him to make a few more mistakes. Maybe even some big ones. If that happens that doesn’t mean he won’t grow into the coach we all want him to be

No online, no secondary, no qb…. This ways always going to be a transition year, I just hoped it would be a return to dumpster fire status, but ya thats no the case. You’re welcome Billy.

Damn. 1 year of greatness followed by 15 years of suckage is not a good pattern. I hope I'm still alive when we have a great year again 🤞

That’s just kinda been what we do.
It remains to be seen who has the better team.
Let’s check that at the end of the year.
There's no excuse to lose to that UF team. Period. We're in year 3 and have progressed every step of the way up until these first 3 games, and while I didn't expect Milton to run the offense with the same efficiency as Hooker, I did expect him to be improved. Just solid, slightly above average QB play will make this offense good enough to win 9 games on the schedule we have, especially with the RBs we have. But OL is quite a bit worse than I expected. We did lose a couple good players, but guys have to step up. The secondary may be worse than it was last year, which is really saying something. DL had just even okay. They did play better in the second half against UF, but they have to be more consistent.

All in all, this team has no business going 6-6 or even 7-5 this year, and right now, we very well could be heading for that type of season unless things change drastically with the problems listed above.

I jumped the fence and escaped the zoo, don't hang out there much anymore.
I’m not on as much as I used to be but still wander in here and there. It’s entertaining watching each side point fingers while both are problematic and hypocritical but I digress. I don’t want to get this thread moved. No more PF talk!

suck? no. not as good as we envisioned ourselves after one year of stellar performances? yes. We aren't a playoff contender this year. But we aren't a 6-6 team either.

I don't know. I recall there were a lot of folks saying that we need to temper our expectations for this year.

Anybody noticed that these so called vol fans with the you suck mentality seem to all have fifty posts or less?

We ain't 2022 Vols, but we are no where near Pruitt, Butch, Dooley years. This will probably be a transition year...7-5...maybe 8-4 if we stop the self inflicted wounds. Not really following recruiting that much, but need to get the NIL$$$ out for some talented DBs in HS and in the transfer portal. We really can't afford to bring in DBs who need 2 years of development.
A transition year at Tennessee is 9-3 with 8-4 being the absolute worst on rare occasion

I wouldn’t say we suck again but CJH 1st year recruits are juniors this year. Should be producing
