What about bye weeks ?

The college landscape and game is different than the NFL. Each team will have 12 scored games. So it will even out. On the bye week your RB team doesnt play you get nothing that week but everyone else also has that. We dont use the typical NFL weekly head to head format. We use a season long points based system. So the performance and consistency of your team over the year is more important than like head to head NFL where 1 hot player can win it all for you (much like Odell Beckham for the Giants last year).

We now have 7 rosters submitted. Would like at least 1 more to join to make it even. Anyone is welcome. Soon as we have it we will go ahead and run the draft so we will be ready for the season that begins tomorrow. Will take as many as we can get.

Yep. Season starts tomorrow and so do we. Just always like to always have as many as possible for better diversity of teams. But from looks of rosters it's going to be super competitive as is

It's all done in-house. I am a college professor and use some of my students as the data analysts and they all helped design the program we use to keep up with the stats. They get hands-on experience with a program they helped design and a little extra credit, and I get to get paid to look at college football stats. It's a win-win haha. Plus this way I can correct the numbers if I catch any errors.

That's so cool man! You're hard work is appreciated :)

Results from draft are out and are up in the first post. A few observations and notes: The demographics of the league are 8 teams total, 6 users from here, 1 outside non-member, and the All-Vol team. While we all had Tenn in 1 or 2 slots, they were no ones top priority. So we were able to field an all Tenn team to play with us. The winner of the league gets a trophy, if the Tenn team wins then that means we all have won as fans. Because that would mean they put up a better year statistically than all our other teams, which should mean a great year for the Vols.

Looks like a great lineup

For sure. Good thing about this format is that each position is just as important as the next. Even if your QB has bad year the rest of your team can pull you up. The kicker is just as important as RB and vice versa. I will post a quick run down of how scoring system will work sometime soon.

Will try a quick basic overview of a small skeleton league and how things will work here.

There will be 3 tables.

Table 1 will have your weekly points for that week:
QB RB WR/TE DEF/ST K
Team 1 42 15 35 10 6
Team 2 20 32 15 7 12
Team 3 21 25 28 14 15

Table 2 will have your total points accumulated for season up to that point (like this could be week 4):
QB RB WR/TE DEF/ST K
Team 1 160 68 130 81 70
Team 2 180 124 112 78 68
Team 3 210 132 156 75 61

Table 3 will be your standing in each category and the points you earned for each spot. If you have highest points in that category you get highest ranking for that category and the lowest gets the least and then the totals are added up to produce your position in the league:
QB RB WR/TE DEF ST K Total
Team 1 1 1 2 3 3 10
Team 2 2 2 1 2 2 10
Team 3 3 3 3 1 1 11

So going off that final table it tells us that Team 3 is currently in the lead since he has highest total number of points. There are 8 in our league so we will be ranked 1-8 on points as opposed to the 1-3 seen here. In the event there is a tie in total points the last week of the season the tiebreaker will be awarded to the team with the highest defensive ranking. After all, Defense wins championships.

It doesnt appear to have lined the categories up correctly. But I hope you all get the picture. Each position group is as important as the rest and has as much impact as the others. It is better to be consistent across the board than dominant in only 1 group.
