Favorite Swing of All Time

Slightly off topic, but I just would like to clarify that Bonds was better than Griffey even before he started juicing. I would also like to clarify that this is not a close call.

Merging back on topic: the above being said...y'all must think Bonds has the ugliest most effective swing of all time with all the Griffey love being tossed around.

Disagree. Jr. was better than Bonds.

The thread is also titled favorite swing of all time for a reason. So people can list their favorites. Apparently Bonds is yours.

Majority of people like Griffey's.

1. Luckily baseball is a very objectively measurable game. Numbers take care of this discussion and actually make it a non-discussion. Bonds was the better baseball player. If you wanted to dig into this argument, you'll see that you are wrong and that it isn't a close call.

2. You'll notice that I specifically pointed out that I was going off track for a couple sentences. I assume you read that, so why did you include these two sentences?

3. I also noted this. So I again must ask...what is it that you do here?

I was just checking back on this thread to see if stevenharvey11 wanted to stick with his statement that "Jr. was better than Bonds". I'm rather sad that he didn't. I wanted to belittle and disparage him. Come back stevenharvey11!

I would have taken Junior in his prime over a pre-steroids Bonds any time. Griffey was a better defender, he could patrol center with the best of them.

Griffey-9 Golden Gloves
Bonds- 7 Golden Gloves

Bonds, like Griffey, hovered around the .300 mark besides his first year in SF. Bonds from 2001 on was a much better hitter, but we all know why.

Griffey also had four straight seasons of 130+ RBIs. Bonds only had 130 RBIs once, the year he hit 73.
I also think Griffey was a better teammate. Bonds was a jackass when I met him.

2000s yes. 90s no.

For some odd reason we count entire careers, therefore, Bonds is better.

And they're both in my top few favorite ballplayers ever, so it isn't a knock on Junior.

Also, according to Fangraphs WAR from 1990-1999:

Bonds: 82.8

Griffey: 70.2
