Fed-Up OSU Fans: (super interesting bits from WSJ)

The OSU fan base is obviously spoiled. They’re deserving of some years of football purgatory
OSU handles everyone in the Big10 except Michigan. What if they were in the SEC and had to handle UGA, Bama, and now Texas every year. They don't have the gauntlet teams in the south have to run thru. I'll bet they wouldn't finish 10-1 every tear like they do now.

They would sporadically, but not like they do now

I know this is behind a paywall but a couple highlights shocked me and I wanted to share. Maybe this animus actually will work in our favor after all:

- "There is now an entire graduating class who spent four years on campus without ever seeing Ohio State defeat Michigan. And many of them hold Day personally responsible."

- "Perry (Joshua Perry, a linebacker on Ohio State’s championship team in 2014) has spoken with alumni who say they don’t care if the Buckeyes win the title. To them, Perry said, losing to a mediocre Michigan squad “should be disqualifying.”

- "Maxx Crosby, a star defensive end for the Las Vegas Raiders that belongs to that camp...declared on a recent episode of his podcast that he won’t watch the Buckeyes again until they cut ties with Day, echoing a popular sentiment among a portion of particularly bloodthirsty OSU fans."

These people might be more insane than we are.
They are no diffident than us. Beat Bama,Fla,Ga. for them it's Beat Michigan Beat Michigan Beat Michigan and he has failed them. i hope they keep him around myself.

Watching Ryan Day walk around practically frozen and looking shell-shocked after the Michigan game with all the chaos going on told me all I needed to know. He is mentally checked out. No matter how these playoffs go, he is going to have to hear about losing to Michigan once again all offseason and is going to put his family through that again.

He simply is not locked in. Everything was put into one game and he failed once against a suubpar Michigan team. I could see him freezing up at the slightest form of adversity. I think he is resolved to whatever happens at this point and will just let things playout.

Before the season we got a lot of chatter about why bother adding Oregon, they wanted a "blue blood" like USC or UCLA, you know the big LA schools, not the backwater programs from the Pacific NW. We were going to be just another Nebraska, filling a spot not winning anything.
I feel like it’s worth mentioning that someone in B1G leadership thought it was a good idea to name their divisions Legends and Leaders once. I think they must think football is a Norman Rockwell painting. And Oregon may have won the PAC12 more than anyone else since Pete Carroll left, but you all don’t have a Rose Bowl parade.

These were my thoughts actually watching the aftermath of the game. Did you? The broadcast panned around the stadium for a few minutes showing different things going on. The whole time Day looked like a ghost. Like he just saw his dog get hit or something.

It was very clear after the fame he was deeply affected by the loss to the point he detached himself from everything going on around him. I don't need anyone to tell me my thoughts if what I saw for myself.

During CPF yes, but I agreed at the time it was time to move on.
I clearly remember one of my good friends who wanted to move on from Fulmer. This was even before we really declined. He said "If we keep Fulmer, we will be 10-2 every year and that's it! We need to move on!"

That's how a ton of people felt. Wild really
