Federal Indictment of Donald Trump

It probably will be, but not for the reasons you think.

By 10pm tonight, you clowns will get your marching orders and will resume your usual circle jerk of repeating and affirming whatever you’re told by your preferred talking heads and the meltdown will cease.

Even if he gets convicted, that meltdown will predictably be about the crooked judge and crooked jury, even though it’s a Florida jury and a judge that’s been more than fair to him in the past. I’ve seen that one before.

I believe in an equal application of the law, but not the two tiered justice system were witnessing.

Still believe if the GOP got behind Haley, she'd be tough in the general.

The Executive has been given virtually unlimited authority regarding classification, problem is I dont think Trump knew that and seemed to try and hide items he had the authority to have.

Most people dont care about the nuance and wont read past the headline. Trump, as usual, is his own worst enemy and the bureaucratic state, as usual, is the enemy.

I still think this ends up at the SCOTUS, where they will protect the Executive as they always do.

If that’s actually what is happening, I’ll agree with you, but that’s debatable.

If he had legitimately damaging national security information, was told he had to give it back, and worked to hide it from the government so he could keep it then his own actions got him here.

The Executive has unlimited authority on matters of classification. He is under no obligation to give them anything back.

Where are you getting this from. Do you have a degree in Federal Law or any kind of law?

There is apparently case law that supports that. Judicial Watch sued to get classified documents that Clinton hid, and a federal judge ruled against JW and stated as much. It is going to be interesting to see this play out.

1 or two of the charges may end up there but not all 7. Plus Trump will have 3 to 4 more indictments to deal with in the future. This is just the beginning of a long road... People are going to get tired of the waves hitting them in the face.

First off, I'm not "you guys". I have no political allegiance. I've said in other posts that if a thorough search was made of the residents of the past Presidents, and yes that includes Bush, more classified material would probably be found.

Second, the charge as I understand it is the mishandling of classified materials. I get you want to argue this different levels BS, but classified is classified. We know of at least 3 politicians who have done the same, Clinton, Biden, and Pence, yet no charges. Not even a peep for the latter two. If "no one is above the law", then they should be facing charges. But, of course, some people ARE actually above the law.

It seems you're perfectly happy with the law being applied based on politics. I, otoh, want, as another poster pointed out, consistency. The law should be applied equally, and politics should not matter.

Ever handle classified materials, evidently not. Classified is not just classified. There are multiple categories which carry different penalties. It goes from Confidential to Secret to Top Secret (which then has different labels based on need to know). The Rosenbergs weren't executed for disclosing Confidential matters.

Improperly handling a Confidential matter is not the same as mishandling Top Secret NoForn which is apparently what Trump was doing. For instance, one of the files cited in the indictment was from the National Reconnaissance Center. That is the spy satellite program and there are few things more sensitive than that (the capabilities are stunning). I have not seen anything that says the files found at Pence's home or Biden's home rose to that level of sensitivity.

I was a watch officer at the Navy Command Center at one time. We received those same intel reports, but we had to go into a 2 person walk-in safe in the middle of the Pentagon to see those files. When I was a fleet pilot the Aviation Intelligence Officer in our squadron had to keep those files in secure spaces inside the Operations Center.

That's a significant difference from the ballroom at Trump's club.

Your desire to say that they are all the same is just not factual.

You are living in La La Land. Plus it is a crime to sell it and or divulge it and we have gone over the procedures already regarding Classification and take home. This is a take out order. You must be Brain Wash.

Well my God. If stories are coming out then they must be true. They should go ahead and start getting him a cell ready at Leavenworth. When discussing the OTHER gangsters financial dealings, even Fox has the common sense/decency to use the word “allegedly”. You should try the same restraint.

Please point out what I said that required allegedly.

The whole thing is BS and it is very likely the SCOTUS will see it that way. However, this case is their best shot of getting Trump. GA case is lame and J6 is desperate hail mary.
