Jail? Probably not. It is not like we could exile him to Elba or Saint Helena (Napoleon) so the positioning of Trump is going to be interesting. Probably will be confined and limited if found guilty. Internet connection taken away? LOL.

Typical Attack the Prosecutor rhetoric, this is just a tactic used by the opposing party to try to shift public opinion and is strictly political in nature. Casting doubt in the Case so they have to throw the kitchen sink. Who cares if he did do it and probably did do it. Has no affect on this case especially when Trump is adding to his own demise.

This is a scare tactic not a good defense and it is used because they are scared of what could/will happen. Aboutism and Deflection from the current case. Trump and Smith are both dirty, so what? Means nothing and will not change the outcome. Hopium.

Good post. Looking back I wonder if the reason he had problems slashing budgets when the Republicans had both houses is due to people like McConnell. McConnell attempted to undermine a Republican House before they took the gavel after this last election.

I think in his own mind McConnell was trying to hold the Party together and not walk to far out on a Trump Limb. Think about Graham as well. Three Supreme Court Judge Appointments in a short period of time is a win. McConnell and Graham were both holding the Party under Control without it going MAGA. When Trump went on his own horn is when McConnell pulled back and Graham would flip and flop around like a fish out of water. Cruz had his moments as well, but only 1.5 of them were thinking about the damage to the party.

That's true, but the side that caves first loses, and the left isn't giving up their crusades. In the end it's a continuing polarized political battle, a complete conservative/moderate surrender, or revolution. I'm beginning to lose patience and favor starting up the party to get it over with.

Democracy (the ideology) is messy; totalitarianism (as practiced by the democratic party) results in solidarity. Seems that republicans are more ideologically democratic these days than democrats are. Personally, I'd like it a lot better if a bunch of "republicans" would ether go away or grow a spine and represent the people who elect them, and I think a lot of others feel the same way or Trump would never have become president.

Trump became President because the Dems nominated one of the worse people in modern politics. I'm a lib but she isn't. She, like many politicians, don't believe in anything other than themselves, but she takes it to a new level. I knew she was toast when she came up with the deplorables crap.

But Dems being unified? i think it was Will Rogers who said "I am not a member of an organized political party, I am a Democrat."

Clinton is MASSIVELY smarter, more reputable and more qualified for high public office than the monomaniacal, vile gangster---and anyone who thinks differently needs a prescription for logic pills. MASSIVELY. She is genuinely qualified to be president while the gangster is massively qualified to be incarcerated. Today's dems aren't Will Rogers' dems. They may be all over the spectrum from left of center to far left, but they tend to stick together pretty well when dem solidarity is needed for a vote. Much better than you'd expect considering the diversity.

I want to say something like "It's because we're the party of ideas, not status quo."

But I know it's currently because of Trump. He crystallized Dem thought to one thing, beat him, the right wing and all the things they stand for.. Makes cohesiveness easy. Hope he doesn't drop out of campaign.
