Did he ever legitimately try to "slash" budgets with the Republican congress or is this just revisionist history? Did he ever veto a budget bill?Good post. Looking back I wonder if the reason he had problems slashing budgets when the Republicans had both houses is due to people like McConnell. McConnell attempted to undermine a Republican House before they took the gavel after this last election.
Since when have the Republicans used the DOJ and a Special Council as a political tool to such an Effect?I must be in the wrong thread, I thought this was the Federal Indictment of Donald Trump Thread.
Just to laugh this is typical Party Political Fodder --- each party throwing Depth Charges to see what scum floats to the top.
Ever Fish with Dynamite both Parties are experts at it. Expect more in the future. This for the most part is where both Parties are focused unfortunately which is a Cat & Mouse Game. The advantage for the Democrats is that Trump cannot keep his mouth Shut and continues to dig his and the Republican Party's grave. 2nd graders are running this country and ruining it in the same breathe from both sides of the Aisle.
I want to say something like "It's because we're the party of ideas, not status quo."
But I know it's currently because of Trump. He crystallized Dem thought to one thing, beat him, the right wing and all the things they stand for.. Makes cohesiveness easy. Hope he doesn't drop out of campaign.
Had the Republicans united against him instead of for him they would probably have the WH today and likely the Senate too. Every person here knew he would be the ringmaster of a circus and not a President of the United States.I'd agree with you about Trump causing the dems to get their act together. A common enemy does wonders to unite wandering factions.

Sounds like something you made up all by yourself.
The big problem the republican party has is that the people they've been backing for years aren't the people that non dems (whether they be "republicans" or independents) want to vote for. That's what gave Trump a chance in the first place - the revolt of the "republican" voter. I can't remember if I voted for McCain, but I definitely didn't vote for the POS named Romney. I've said all along that Trump was unfit to be president, but I did approve of a few things he did which more "approval" than I have given most presidents in the past 60 years. I'm really tired of voting against somebody; it would actually be nice to vote for somebody for a change. I'd like to see "NO" on ballots and the opportunity to tell parties they failed - that nobody was acceptable.
already discussed but the thing that Trump a chance was the Dems running Hillary Clinton. The big problem the republican party has is that the people they've been backing for years aren't the people that non dems (whether they be "republicans" or independents) want to vote for. Seriously, just the threat of using the DOJ time and time again is enough. I don't mind either party using the DOJ when it is legit. At the moment Republicans are threatening to use it with the Biden Clan but not producing any evidence to warrant it. As has the Democrats as well. Again, both parties are fishing with dynamite and hoping scum will float to the top. Trump guilty as crap is getting what he deserves. If the roles were reversed it would be the same results just a different set of Characters. One can easily assume both parties are lying to you and the sad part of it is that it is only about 20% of both parties stirring the pot. I would not have had a problem with Trump going after Clinton with the DOJ, he threatened to do so, why didn't it happen, no provable evidence. All this rhetoric by both parties is why we are where we are to date. You throw enough crap out there and some is going to stick to the wall and that is the game plan. Most of it is a distraction/false narrative/a deflection shift to take the heat off of your party, but then you get the fly in it and they admit to it.Since when have the Republicans used the DOJ and a Special Council as a political tool to such an Effect?
Obama won, Hillary didn't. Too much Hillary, her own demise was herself. You honestly think the dems had anyone else who could have won against Trump? You blame hiliary as the bad choice all you want, but the real culprit was already having elected obama ... twice. The country was fed up with dem BS; hiliary was simply icing on the cake.
