Fergusons Dad on TSR

My son is very similar. You can put him in mock situations. He acts so so. You put him in real life deals. Something that's for the "money" It's a different mind set. Kids know the difference.

My boy is 11.

Is he going to be a QB?

I say give him a shot. At least for one full series. He may play better in a game situation than in practice. If memory serves me, Florida's QB Driskel, was a starting freshman not so long ago and he beat us. Currently, I do not think Peterman or Worley can get it done for Tennessee. I feel they lack the confidence to win.

That interview really helped me to get to know Riley. Changed my view on the situation. I feel much more comfortable about our future at that position. Thx

Because his Dad says he can play?

Prepare yourselves not to see either Freshman until USA at the earliest. Unless the wheels fall off they're going to try and redshirt them. Peterman is very possible.

I posted this in another thread so forgive me for repeating myself:

I've seen Riley play here in Charlotte as a HS kid and he is the real deal. Plays a lot like Shuler IMO. His dad understated his wheels a little in that interview. He s no Mike Vick... but the kid has wheels. Most importantly he has a cannon and is just flat out a winner. I hope he doesn't start til USA... I think if we wait til then he will start for the rest of his stay at UT. JMO TIFWIW. HUBANegavols

You Praise his dad for telling it like it is but want fans to keep their rants to themselves. If fans on a message board cant voice their full opinion and tell it like they see it.....who can? Only fathers of players?

Yes, only parents of players reserve the right to post criticisms here. The rest of us are to keep our mouths shut.

I dont have a favorite, but Worley obviously isnt the answer, and since he beat out Peterson, and Peterson hasnt lit the world on fire the couple times he has played, im gonna make a guess that either Ferg or Dobbs is our guy moving forward, so lets go ahead and play. I get the impression that Ferg wouldnt be intimidated playing in the Swamp, dont know about Dobbs though. Here is one little wrinkle in the plan, and maybe why CBJ has hesitated and hoped Worley would come through. We dont have a QB committed in this next class. Lets say Fergie is named starter this week and holds on the rest of the season. Worley is liely going to Wofford or somewhere close to home where he can play, i dont see him wanting to stand on the sidelines his senior year. Peterson also will look elsewhere so he can start, will Dobbs stick around? Probably not...so who do we have left at QB? if one of the Frosh are named starters, i dont see the other 3 hanging around, AND, its gonna be tough to recruit a really good QB into this next class that knows he will likely be the backup for 2-3 seasons...just some thoughts. I still say if either seems ready to go, pull the trigger and lets try to win some games this year.
