For some reason they all disagree with me on Energy... so I see no need to waste tons of cash researching biofuels...

I'd much rather see that cash spent developing the nuclear power we are in dire need of, but what do I know. :)

I actually had a problem with the biofuels question as well - and it is an issue at the heart of science and technology policy. Sometimes, the words written into legislation are much to restrictive, and keep good ideas from being funded because of a lack of knowledge or a misunderstanding. An example is wording in recent legislation that mentioned funding studies for ethanol/ethane an lighter biofuel hydrocarbons. Well, it turns out some pretty cool stuff can be done with propane...there was no reason to specify "lighter" hydrocarbons..but they did and until that is changed, that can't be researched.

I would have preferred the alternative energy question to have been worded something like "increased funding for alternatives to fossil fuels and increased funding for carbon capture and sequestration and clean coal technologies"...something along those lines.

Hmmm... interesting. The selector had me best selecting Thompson and Hunter (tied), but I disagreed with ALL of the candidates on what to do in Iraq. I guess that means that no candidate is suggesting that we sub-divide Iraq into 3 regions and let the chips fall where they may...

My score was lower than virtually all of you since I rarely rated any issue as extremely important and on several, eg. stem cell and abortion I rate them as not very important.

As a result - McCain was my top but I think it was a score of about 26.

Overall my results came out about as I expected with only a surprise or two.

Surprise 1: Tancredo was higher than I expected - didn't know much about him but wasn't overly impressed with hi during the debate I saw (too immigration oriented)

Surprise 2: Huckabee was much lower than I expected. Again, after the debate I was relatively impressed but I guess I hadn't looked into his issues enough.

No surprise that Romney was pretty far down on my list and that of the major Dems, Edwards rated the lowest.

I just think seeing Kucinich rating higher than "mainstream" Dems is hillarious. It seems he's pulled that off with a few of us. You'd like to think of Ernie the Keebler Elf as being the farthest to the left of that whole group.

I don't have a problem with my beliefs but trouble finding a candidate that truly stands for any of them.
