For those of you who are not currently tuning in to Finebaum today (which I try not to do but they are talking about Tennessee so I cant stop) he is currently doing #rockytoprants where he is inviting fans to call in or send a video message ranting about Tennessee football..........for those of you doing it, please stop. You're embarassing volnation and yourselves. He knows we are jacked up after a great win on Sunday and he knows we are going to talk a lot of smack this week and thats exactly what the few who are calling in are doing. The season is young, we are improved, but lets pace ourselves as we got a long way to go still. Its one thing to do it on this forum amongst us, its another to do it on national TV and make the rest of us look like idiots. (still sunday was awesome!!! and GBO!!!)

Guys at work had it on F***baum today, and some Vol fans were calling in predicting us winning 10 games this year. It gets embarrassing. I like to believe, we have more class as a fan base than most fan bases in the SEC.......but calling into the Finebaum show, because we beat USU and are showing improvement, is craziness.

They are only helping Finebaum... its Obvious he has distaste for the Vols... forget his opinion.. we could care less. We get respect by winning.... not making Finebaum yell "Uncle'

Im all for optimistic, I try and go into every game with a positive attitude with the idea that we could win (or against tougher teams) go in with the demeanor that we can compete and hopefully pull off an upset. But the videos he has shown so far are people saying (and I quote) "we're back baby, you better watch out kiffin when bama comes knocking b/c we are about to run a train on you" and another who stated, "we are winning the SEC East this year now, we're back".........and of course other fans are blasting us into the ground right now. :thud:

Maybe we could get one of the numbers guys/gals to crunch the numbers of the total number of Vol fans vs the total number that call into radio and TV shows and make a$$es out of themselves.

But not LV, because he under counts to much. :)

It would take some seriously bad luck to go 5-7.

We got 3 OCC gimmes and 2 SEC gimmes.

Prolly 2 shoe in losses.

Then Mizzou, Scar, UF, Ole Miss, UGA. I think it is likely that we win 1 game than we pitch an ofer.

Personally, I think it is close to a toss up we win two as opposed to going Ofer.

What did I tell you yesterday, the guy was practically BEGGING vol fans to call in. He was only getting calls from the N.Y. and Boston area. I didn't listen today and I'm in a much better mood for it.

Some of you really need to think about it. We are only 1 more injury on the OL from being a 5-7 or 4-8 team. Don't be overly optimistic!! Our OL is close to pathetic, that is why we only averaged 2.8 ypc! If we get an injury against Oklahoma ( which is entirely possible) on the OL, we are devastated. Go ahead- I got my shield up against your forthcoming bullets!!

I feel like he and Clay Travis are simply propping up the Vols to entice the idiots to come out of the woodwork once we inevitably start dropping games during SEC play.

Utah St stacked the box, and it was the first game of the year. So don't be overly pessimistic either.

There is NO reason we can't go 8 games guys....none. Now I feel my blood pressure rising. I'm going to go have another tequila, call me when it's over.

Finebaum was pretty disappointed with the first kid who submitted a video...predicting us to finish 6-6/7-5, a level-headed prediction, IMHO. He's just trolling us, and the fish are biting...just as they are on the Bama QB "controversy". Crazy fans are gonna crazy, and jackass radio/tv heads are gonna jackass.

They are the true VFL's, IMO.

If there's anything I have learned, no matter how bad it may look or how bad it has been, a real Tennessee fan is going to tell you they'll whip your ***. They'll even tell you they should have won after accusing you of running up the score.
