From left field, I’m just glad that our Coach isn‘t on radar (or discussions) for NFL coaching vacancy(s) coming up (so far, just Carolina). I’m thinking Riley, Kiffen, and Harbaraugh would get a call before Huepel.. but beyond Oklahoma, folks should be watching whats’s going on in the big league.

Personally, I’m not seeing our coach being lured away for any CFB team in near term… just not sure about being lured away by NFL.

Paul Finebaum, Matt Barrie discuss Josh Heupel's work at Tennessee, potential Oklahoma reunion

Here's the link to what he said. It isn't anything that hasn't been discussed on this site already. We know OU will likely reach out if we're winning 10+ annually and Venables keeps struggling. But, we have the financial means to match whatever OU throws out. So unless he just views that as his dream job, I don't see any reason to believe Heup would leave. We would be a top 10 program at that point and OU would be program that was down and we'd in the same conference at that point. Just doesn't seem likely to me. It's the same reason I don't see Kiffin leaving Ole Miss for Auburn.

If somebody fires me and leaves me hanging like that (especially my own alma mater), I ain't coming back. But, I'm petty like that.

He's going to build his own legacy at Tennessee. There's no way he goes back in my opinion.
