TCU proved they belonged in the playoff last year when they beat Michigan. It was unfortunate that they played so poorly against UGA. They played their best against Michigan and worst against UGA.
Michigan fumbling the ball in the 1 foot line helped their cause also.

Or maybe Michigan was extremely overrated just like the Big ten is every year

FSU knew the risks of joining the ACC in terms of an overall drop in their annual SOS. In a sense it's part of the reason they did it. Then Miami went downhill. And now Clemson has taken a dive. I won't shed a tear for a problem of their own making.
When Miami, VA Tech, Syracuse and Pitt left the Big East I thought the ACC was going to turn into a monster. Miami was a good pickup at the time and VA Tech was playing good ball too. Syracuse and Pitt would have good teams here and there as well. And then Miami and VA Tech both fizzled out, Cuse and Pitt stayed the same and the rest of the conference seemed to pull Miami and VA Tech to them rather than elevating. I’ll be curious to see if the same thing happens to the Big 10. On paper, that conference just got far more difficult but I thought that with the ACC years ago too.

That if Alabama beats Georgia, they should both be in the playoffs. Sorry FSU, your ACC championship doesn’t mean you are one of the four best teams in the country, and that’s the purpose of the playoffs. He calls the ACC championship game is for a participation trophy.
I agree with him and have said all along if Bama wins, both they and Georgia deserve to be in, along with Michigan and either the Pac 12 winner, Texas, or FSU. That being said, the committee may eliminate Bama if it comes down to them or Texas, due to head-to-head.

It could be a giant cluster with a logjam as it is now, or it could sort itself out with a couple of upsets. I personally think Louisville will come in raging mad after losing to Kentucky and give FSU all they can handle.

I think Alabama has no business at all in the playoffs even if they beat Georgia. You need to get THE BEST team in there and you have 4 chances. There is no way Alabama is the best team in the nation. Zero reason to have them in there. It makes way more sense to have Ohio State in there than Alabama.

I can't remember a time when Georgia had a tough schedule. They are always sandbagging. Personally, I would love to see Bama beat them and both get left out of the final 4. The gnashing of teeth and rending of material objects would be EPIC!!! Screw the SEC for protecting their sacred cows.
In 2017 and 2019 they played ND (10 and 11 win ND teams) and in 2021 and 2022 they played Clemson (10 wins) and Oregon (10 wins) in non-conference regular season games. In addition to playing GT, another P5 team. Granted GT has fallen off in recent years but there’s not many teams playing 2 OOC P5 teams with regularity. And as was stated, they were set to play OU this year. Also, it can’t be discounted that 5 out of the last 6 years they’ve played an additional 10-12 win team by virtue of playing in the SECCG.

Nope Bama beats Ga , Ga is out Period. They have played nobody . Ken, Tenn, Fl, ole miss, Vandy , which all sucked this year. 3 out of conference sisters of the poor and GT. They have ONE quality win Mizzou.
Ole Miss is 10-2, same as Mizzou and UGA obliterated them whereas Bama beat them by 14.

Let’s go by results on the field. What happened on the field, is Michigan dominated OSU in Ohio.

If you want to claim that Michigan played poorly against TCU, you could make that argument. But you have no evidence that Michigan did not deserve the #2 ranking.

If everybody wins like they should this weekend except Bama beats UGA, then the SEC should be left out of the playoffs. You can't let UGA over Bama, and you can't let Bama in over Texas. There just isn't enough spots.

The gnashing of teeth and the crying, howling and cursing would be EPIC! Could I actually root for bama so this could happen?

This is true though many have "red colored" glasses on right now and think the committee is above leaving the SEC out. I personally would love to see it happen. The meltdown in Alabama and Georgia would be priceless to see.
