If we indeed, as Gruden's agent stated publicly, didn't even bother to negotiate with him until 10 days after Dooley's firing, I'm with ya, Bruh.

Maybe it would be best to see who he hires and how the team performs before we tar and feather him. I wanted Gruden as much as the next guy but he's not the only legit coach out there.

And thats all im saying. The whole petition thing might have been a little drastic but as a fan what else can you say. I find it hard to beleive that all these analyst and reporters have been dead wrong about Grudens interest.

Is that gonna make Gruden want to take the job? To be honest I think regardless,that its gonna be a long time before UT gets back to where it once was. We are so far behind our rivals right now. The way that we have to recruit. Even vandy has jumped us in the football world. Sux

Look, if you asked me to list my top 5 choices for coach, my first four would be Gruden.

But this is just ridiculous.

If we find out Jon Gruden begged for a job and said Hart could pay him in hot wings, and Hart told him to go F himself, THEN I'll join the cause.

And the proof to what u believe is where? And please don't say one of these thread's or some 'for sure' source like we been hearing for day's that gruden was coming

If Hart rochambeaued the deal with Gruden (and I've stated my misgivings from the beginning) he should either:

1. Have the perfect clone of General Neyland ready to take $3M + $2M for assistants waiting to be announced, or,

2. He should be run out of Knoxville on a burning mattress.

If we have to settle for Franklin, Golden or Fedora, I'm sorry, but there are limit's to everyone's loyalty. I'll find something else more productive to do than waste hours on here and 3 hours each Sat. accepting more mediocrity from this program. Maybe go spend that time helping at a homeless shelter or something.

I'm not happy with everything Dave Hart has done. The decision to retain Dooley was damaging to the program. But the effort to get the Drake Group elements inside UT off the back of our athletics programs should be appreciated by everyone on this forum.

We don't know exactly what transpired between Gruden and Tennessee. But I do know Gruden isn't the only coach who can get the job done with football. The men most mentioned all have experience turning around programs in trouble. Many of them distinguish themselves from the former head coach in that they actually put in the kind of effort necessary to build a talented squad and develop the recruiting networks a program needs to thrive. A few of them have extensive contacts in states we need to recruit well again.

If Hart lives up to his word as stated in his press conference and produces the kind of coach he says he's seeking, then I'm going to be solid with it.

If he goes against his own guidelines and brings out a Smart or someone like him, then I'd start thinking we've got another Hammy who can't be trusted with personnel decisions.

If I didn't know any better I'd think I was on an Arkansas board. Anyone who actually knows what's going on behind the scenes with our coaching search isn't posting here, as is evidenced by how laughably wrong all of the "insiders" have been in recent days. To suggest Dave Hart should be fired is moronic.

Shut your mouths and let the man do his job. He can't handcuff Gruden and drag him to Knoxville to coach UT. Get over it.
