fire fisher

The Jon Gruden lovefest is a little puzzling. He'd be like replacing Fisher with Fisher, why bother?

Fisher won't quit, he would be walking away from guaranteed money so Bud will have to fire him. If Bud does so I want to go out and get Rob Ryan or Perry Fewell, also wouldn't mind seeing if Mike Zimmer is up to being a head coach. Let me just say this though I don't want to see Fisher leave.

I don't understand the love affair with either Fisher or Young. Young beats bad teams; his record against .500 teams or better sucks. He does well against bad teams and everyone declares him awesome then he goes to pot against good teams. He has maturity of a 10 year old. Fisher has milked a surprise Super Bowl run, not win for a good while now. Any other owner would have canned him by now. I would say Adams' loyalty shows he's smarter than other owners but his obsession with Young proves otherwise.

For the Titans fans that want to fire Fisher, who would you want to replace him?

I'll take an unknown over Fisher right now. I don't know that I would want Mac Brown as the zone is speculating today on the 3 hour lunch, but there are many candidates I'd prefer. I'd take Wad Phillips over Fisher right now, and I don't like Wad Phillips. There are options out there. Some are unlikely such as Cowher and Dungy. Some are possible but not probably such as Gruden. Some would be definates such as Jason Garrett (if Dallas does not keep him). There are too many names to mention that would be preferred over Fisher right now.

Fisher is well respected and would be employeed quickly once fired, but he has done all he can do with the Titans. The players and fans have quit on him, so it's time for the organization and the coach to move on to something new.

a lot of vince's problem IMO is that he never felt he had the team and he could get benched at any time.they tried to make him into something he wasn't(traditional pocket passer)he'd screw up and get booed for doing something he didn't want to be doing in the first place

Agree with you. The only problem I have with VY is the way he's handled the situation. I don't think he can be the leader for a team until he grows up. I had hoped he was growing up after he came back from his "mental" episode, but it appears he may never grow up.

me either,he wants to win and fisher is a conservative guy.that creates a lot of conflict.

i was a fisher defender for years and while we never had huge names on our teams.the postseason is always a disaster.you shouldn't go 13-3 and lose your first playoff game

Vince better get used to being put in that role, while he can make plays running the ball as fragile as he is he would be sidelined every season with an injury. If he was a grittier guy with a better build they would certainly allow him more opportunity to run the ball.

While I like and respect Fisher I have slowly come to the conclusion that maybe it is a good time to find another HC. Not for anything Fisher has or hasn't done but just to shake things up a bit more and start new.

If the organization is smart they are going to blow this team up anyway starting with qb. Might as well transition a new starting qb in with a new head coach.

I think Bud Adams is the problem. He won't allow his general manager and/or his coaches to do the things that they are hired to do.

Vince Young was Bud's pick. Adams has had a lifelong mancrush on Young. He has talked about how he watched him since high school. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure it has been documented that Fisher and the general manager at the time wanted someone else, but Adams said no you are taking Young. He has overruled Fisher on numerous occasions since and has picked Young's side over Fisher more than once.

I think another part of Adam's issue is that he continues to try to run the team from Houston, so he isn't around for the day to day crap. He doesn't see how close this team is to spiraling out of control (if it hasn't already happened).

Fisher is a good coach, but at this point (for his sake) the best thing he can do is get through next year to the end of his contract and move on to a better situation. Young will end up being a career killer for any coach he has. I think people will see just how good Fisher is when he gets in a situation where he has more free reign to call the shots himself. Any coach of the Titans is going to find it difficult to win as long as Adams is still alive and/or involved with team ownership.

I don't think Bud's heart is where it should be. I think this is a hobby for him. He is the puppetmaster. That is just my opinion. I am still learning about football.

The Titans' problems start at the very TOP and trickle down. Bud is wanting to hold on to Vince a la Al Davis and Jamarcus

Fisher is a great coach, been there a long time. I wonder if Adams will can him? I have read that Fish is disgruntled and being next season is the last year of his contract who knows what will happen. Its obvious he and VY arent going to coexist...
