Without getting anyone upset.. Let me ask it like this

In your opinion, what could Hamilton have done in the past to prevent the circumstances that have troubled UT in the last 5 years?

Fired Fulmer after he lost to Vanderbilt at home.

Spent Saban/Alabama type money to hire a real football coach.

Backed up Bruce Pearl at least until the NCAA made their verdict.

...I thought this was all pretty obvious stuff?

1. what difference did it make? At least he let him finish the season

2. spent money on who? who was available at the time?

3. he did.. The pearl committed several other violations... Why keep Pearl and sink the program completely?

Well, Hamilton has apologized in his press release, and Cheek has thrown his support behind MH. I guess this is over.

Hire a new coach first, then you can axe him in the summer after the NCAA ruling comes down.

I understand your reasoning but do you
1. Trust him to make the correct decision on the right coach (without Grunfeld)?
2. Put together a well thought out contract that is in the best interest of UT?

Hamilton's history screams no to me.

Hamilton and Cheek should go out at the same time. I feel like Hamilton is the fall guy for a lot of bad decisions from the top down. If all the rumors are true, he basicly does the bidding for Cheek and Haslam.

He/his staff knew the NCAA was investigating BP and our program. His righthand man DB wasnt following Kiffy around anymore so he had time to help BP get prepared for the NCAA. Why didnt the AD staff properly prepare/brief BP and his staff on HOW TO ANSWER THE FRIGGIN QUESTIONS. I dont think the NCAA gets to play gotcha with people they are going to interview. The interviewee is entitled to know what the inquiry is about. That said, our crack AD and compliance staff should have KNOWN what BP was going to be asked about and not allowed him to lie about what was such a minor thing. Our AD and his staff failed to properly prepare their witnesses for their testimony. It was professional malpractice by Hammy and company to let BP and his staff tell such a silly lie. Had they been up to speed so to speak, they could have called BullSh>t when BP tried to spin the lie about where the photos had been taken. For this malfeasance of duty Hammy must be fired TOO.

He could have overseen the Athletic Department, and individuals employed therein to ensure NCAA compliance.

I believe the A.D formerly employed at USC lost his job for ignoring such problems, and they hired a no non-sence guy in Pat Hayden. He understands USC and will be successful doing things the right way. We will all have proof of this when he fires Kiffen after the 2012 season! :good!:

How is that for an answer? :eek:k:

Maybe they thought they didn't need to tell a 50 year old that lying to the governing body of his profession was a bad idea.

Or if they show you a picture of your house, its going to be easy to tell if you're lying.

The people blaming everyone but Pearl make me sick. There is no such thing as personal accountability these days.

Boys BP is gone, fired for lying. We have compliance people working for us for a reason. They did not do their due diligence here. Period. Hammy mismangaged this from the get go and he must and will go. Book it. Hammy is toast.

Does the buck stop with an AD who has supposedly been in charge as the 3 major men's programs have been investigated by the NCAA?

We're all about accountability...until we talk Hammy. Apparently, he's not responsible for anything that has taken place. But he hired the coaches. And in every instance, he has screwed up the public message.

I cannot discuss this with anyone who still supports Pearl. The sheer stupidity of that position irks me to the core. No, Hamilton is not expected to know Pearl is a lying cheat who doesn't have the sense to know when he's cornered.
