I'm not disagreeing with you on that. I just think it's ignorant to dismiss social media as a means for people rallying to cause..

and I think it is sad that certain board members want to belittle and downgrade others for having a differing opinion.

The only common ground we can find here is the fact that this whole Pearl saga has divided a fanbase. There is no middle ground

Oh, wow. A blog entry that said social media "helped" Obama win. That pretty much seals it. I'm sure Obama's win was more about Facebook than his amazing speaking ability, George Bush being incredibly unpopular, the Iraq War, the economic meltdown, and the presence of Sarah Palin on the GOP ticket. Get real.

And me calling you out for saying utterly ridiculous things isn't me saying the site revolves around me.

cool. I can't wait to tell my professors in TN's phd program in communication and information that lawvol says social media has no impact in our society.

I'm sure we will have to issue a statement saying that we are cancelling the program in light of this recent breaking news from lawvol.

I don't care if you're a rocket scientist. It doesn't make what you're saying true. Did Obama effectively utilize social media? Sure. Was that the main reason he won? Absolutely not. Not even close.
