Fire Mike Hamilton (merged)

It is as clear as orange and white that Hamilton is not going to do anything to Fulmer. The only thing he has done is hire Bruce Pearl and you could add he has not ran off Coach Summit. He makes sure those programs stay focused but the football program which adds more money to the university and pays for all other UT sports other then basketball is not going to do a damn thing to his friend Fulmer. Hey Hamilton in case you have not noticed when the football program is winning the whole city benefits from it. Stores sell more merchantise with UT licensed logos which means more money for the University. The bottom line do your damn job or get the hell out.

Then only after Ernie Gruenfield lobbied so hard to get him(Pearl) at UT. Maybe Peyton Manning can tell MH who to hire to replace CPF.

Peyton and other former players say we should all trust CPF, he knows how to fix it. I wonder when reality is going to set in and they realize the program is not fixable w/ our current staff. UT has gave mediocrity a new face.

I love people who expect non-biased opinions from his former players.

I mean, do people actually expect Manning, Martin, and Overstreet to throw the guy under the bus or call for his head?

I dont expect them to throw him under the bus, i just want them to shut the hell up and let the business that needs to happen, happen. they are just throwing false hope out there to some people.

Great point, Manning and Martin should have told Holly Rowe to shut the f up and get away when those sideline interviews where requested. That's dumber than expecting them to bash the guy that signed them.

For what it's worth, Hamilton has nothing to do with Coach Summit or the softball program as somebody else mentioned. UT has a separate women's AD.

I think Fulmer needs to go, but I don't think that despite how mad all of may be... firing a coach mid-season is not the answer. Let the season end... and let Fulmer go. As fed up with Fulmer as I am right now, let the man resign was some dignity at the end of the year. He's done a lot for the program... even if it hasn't shown in the past 10 years.

Now... if Fulmer is allowed to come back for next season... I say off with Hamilton's head.

part of me wants to agree with this post but if we are going to get a new coach, it would be best to begin the search now, rather than the end of the season. i believe that Fulmer has the opportunity, right now, to do what is best for this program (not himself) and retire. as for Hamilton, it is good that he has upgraded the facilities(which i have never seen), but the football program is an embarrassment, and hiring Bruce Pearl does not excuse that, and neither does winning the SEC in track. i agreed with not firing Fulmer after playing in the SECCG last year, but giving him a raise and extension was absolute insanity. that makes the decision to fire Fulmer even harder for him, but he has to make that decision. if he doesnt make it during or after this season, then i would like to see him removed as AD.

They didnt have to say anything is what I am trying to say. Next thing there will be is a list of former players circulating saying the University needs to keep Phil, oh wait that already happened and we are still losing! Fire Him now!

What's all this about the track and field teams? The women's indoor track and field were the national champions last year for gods sake.

Let's see, he can't sell the program to coaches and apparently has no idea how to negotiate a good contract.... yep, fire his azz.

To be honest I don't believe anything that has been said in the media the past few days. I would hold off until we know all the facts.

I personally see this as well planned move that does make Hamilton a genius (possibly hiring Dooley).....Think about it. Bring in a HC that is a current HC/AD that way when you get fired in a few days, you know of at least one opening
