It's recruiting talk in a recruiting forum, however, feel free to partake of pj's irrational paranoia that compels him to assume that every post by a non-Fulmer supporter is some sort of juxtoposition between schools that do things the correct way and the school that does things the Fulmer way. I've always thought that Fear & Loathing avatar fits him to a T.

Well, Kansas is probably more relevant in the national championship discussions than UTK these days so I think that gets Mangino a little bit of a pass.So I guess pointing out that Phil is positively svelte compared to Mark Mangino would keep us within the spirit of this thread?

You'd be more on the mark by comparing him to Charlie Weiss IMO.

The problem is that Kansas just played in a BCS bowl and Wake won a conference championship in 2006. The Vols really are not on their level accomplishmentwise unless you're going to dig back into the 1990s.
I thought the East was down last year. UGA and UF were replacing a lot. The Vols did not have to play LSU or Aubie in the regular season. The Vols barely beat mediocre SC, Vandy and KY teams and they got beat by two 6-6 teams.Yes and we also play in the hardest conference year in and year out. Wake won their conference in a year that the ACC was outright terrible. And KU plays in the Big 12 North and did not play OU or Texas last year. And they barely beat a mediocre VA Tech team in the orange bowl. The one legit team they played last year, Mizzou, they of course lost to.

Over the past three years:
Kansas is 25-12 with a BCS win
Wake is 24-13 with a conference championship and a BCS appearance
UTK is 24-14
disclaimer: these are just facts and to the best of my knowledge have nothing to do with Phillip Fulmer's girth.
