It's recruiting talk in a recruiting forum, however, feel free to partake of pj's irrational paranoia that compels him to assume that every post by a non-Fulmer supporter is some sort of juxtoposition between schools that do things the correct way and the school that does things the Fulmer way. I've always thought that Fear & Loathing avatar fits him to a T.

Are you saying he's high?

that would be accusing someone of criminal activity without any proof thereof. I'm just saying that it's virtually impossible for me to post anything favorable about any other team without having someone, often pj, follow-up with some insinuation that by my pointing out that someone else is doing well I am really just taking a swipe at Fulmer. Although I don't think too much of Phil as a coach, I do not spent my every waking moment thinking about ways to take veiled swipes at him.

It's really cute when you play the poor, misunderstood poster but most see through it the same way we do Lawgator. I was just pointing out the point of this particular forum since it looks like you failed to read it before entering

About this Page
Below you will find a list of discussions in the Tennessee Vols Recruiting forum on VolNation.com. Tennessee Vols Recruiting. Discuss Vols football recruiting, Vols basketball recruiting, Vols baseball recruting, Lady Vols recruiting in our Tennessee Vols Recruitng Forum.

and the fact that you had a perpetual fat joke as your avatar for so long really knocks home the other point I was making.

So I guess pointing out that Phil is positively svelte compared to Mark Mangino would keep us within the spirit of this thread?

Well, Kansas is probably more relevant in the national championship discussions than UTK these days so I think that gets Mangino a little bit of a pass.

You'd be more on the mark by comparing him to Charlie Weiss IMO.

Kansas has established itself as a powerhouse just like Wake Forest did the season before. WF and Kansas have both far surpassed our Volunteers.

I was building off the "obese" reference but if you are actually going to put W/L in the mix the Weiss comparison does look better. Having said that, I've got serious qestions about what that Kansas team would have done in SEC play.

The problem is that Kansas just played in a BCS bowl and Wake won a conference championship in 2006. The Vols really are not on their level accomplishmentwise unless you're going to dig back into the 1990s.

Yes and we also play in the hardest conference year in and year out. Wake won their conference in a year that the ACC was outright terrible. And KU plays in the Big 12 North and did not play OU or Texas last year. And they barely beat a mediocre VA Tech team in the orange bowl. The one legit team they played last year, Mizzou, they of course lost to.

I thought the East was down last year. UGA and UF were replacing a lot. The Vols did not have to play LSU or Aubie in the regular season. The Vols barely beat mediocre SC, Vandy and KY teams and they got beat by two 6-6 teams.

Over the past three years:

Kansas is 25-12 with a BCS win
Wake is 24-13 with a conference championship and a BCS appearance
UTK is 24-14

disclaimer: these are just facts and to the best of my knowledge have nothing to do with Phillip Fulmer's girth.

Tantamount to being voted best looking on The View over the last few seasons in the ACC.

Kansas deserves a little more respect but as the other poster pointed out in looking over their schedule, not much more.
