First Injury report for Georgia shows Nico - Questionable

What about Cam Seldon at RB? I seem to remember they wanted to try him there at some point last year. And Nico being questionable is going to make the game a little bit harder. Defense has to play lights out and offense has to limit turnovers and just has to do enough to win.

Cam Seldon isn’t being “tried” at RB. It’s the only offensive position he’s played at UT. Have you watched the games?

I posted an update a few days about Nico, his head injury, and him practicing this week. I am not an insider but my kiddo is friends w/ a walk on player(s) for the Vols.

Idk if Nico will play, but as of 8pm tonight, he is playing! He went through practices Wednesday and today. He wore his helmet, full pads, and practiced w/ the team.
Plus, they practiced with noise to prepare for Athens. No issues so far. So that is great news! I forgot to ask my son if they fly to GA or take a bus. Either way, they leave tomorrow and hopefully Nico is w/ the team.

Go Vols! Tame the Dawgs and get the DUB!

They normally fly to AHN. Smaller jets due to a short runway of 6200’.

Is GA backup a running QB?
I can see Beck taking a seat if he goes on an int/turnover streak

I expect Kirby to say nothing is off the table seeing how this could determine if you're in the CFP or not

I really think or I'm really hoping that concussion topic that got out about nico is playing into what josh wants. The pups are going to be preparing for two qb's now and I'm thinking he's fine and there is going to be alot of qb designed runs with Georgia thinking were are going to try and protect him like crazy.

There’s really no extra preparations for Gaston. And if it was a concussion you can bet we won’t be running Nico. You indeed could be wrong.

Nico’s main advantage over Gaston is his rushing ability, and Georgia has had trouble with running QBs this year. I expect Nico to run his normal 5-6 times in the game if he plays.
I’m telling y’all, Gaston can run. Not like Nico but enough to hurt a defense when gaps open up.
The biggest difference is you don’t want him trying to create and throw off platform: if he runs, you want him to get upfield, take what he can get, and live to play another down.

Does anyone else feel that Heupel is leaning towards thinking Nico isn't going to play and wants to give Georgia every indication the chance of him playing is 60-40 without lying?

coaches prepare for all possibilities. This late in the season they don't need these theatrics to prepare...

My take….I’m leaning to hold Nico out. To much at stake down the road. Need to filter in the mental factor for Nico…absolutely don’t need any hesitation on his part which is a recipe for further injury.

the hit that everyone said he suffered the concussion was the 2nd to last drive in the first half. Nico looked like he was smiling and threw a dot to squirrel before half time to get that field goal. Hoping they were just over cautious when they pulled him.

Lewis is a freshman with a bright future, but I only recall one carry of his that impressed and it was when he trucked the Miss St safety.
His running style is a little faster and more decisive than Sampson, but that means he runs into defenders more than Sampson who finds little slivers in the D to exploit.

Lewis about broke that kid's collar bone. He was totally jacked up after seeing that guy down too.
