First Temple seal found in Jerusalem

As someone you might just call a progressive Christian, let me say that your comment made me laugh. Even some pastors I know have a sense of humor about such things and perspective is a virtue, right?

Apparently it all depends on what your perspective is!:eek:lol:

No, but I will tell you one thing. The church I grew up in was considered liberal by this church because as a church we celebrated Christmas.

Bryan Station Home

Check that one out for a while.

There is not a church, with the name Baptist on it, that can touch the legalistic Church I grew up in.
I did not want my children growing up thinking that they were the only ones going to Heaven. I have family members that have not spoken to me since I left that demonimation 10 years ago.(although thay do not concider themselves a "denomination", they concider themselves the one and only Church)

Nazarene?
Jewish?
Mormon?
Jehovah's Witness?

Is Macon still the Mecca for the South Georgia conference? I never understood that...I was a counselor at Epworth for a summer for the conference summer camps.

I bet I went to seminary with half of the Methodist pastors you sell to.

Macon is still the headquarters for South GA. In fact, I saw the Bishop the other day.

You Methodists are easy to deal with, but it drives me nuts keeping up with the Pastor rotations.

I have a very good friend who is a C of C pastor.....

We usually get in to it talking about church matters....

Baptism is a nightmare.......................

:boxing2:

DING>>DING>>>DING!!!!!!!!!

Even went to Lipscomb, only because of a baseball scholly.

Didn't start thinking for myself until about 5 years after I left there.

I became a Presbyterian after I saw the beer in their softball dugout! Unfortunately I remained chained to some of Wesley's good theology.

My home town is where Freed Hardeman is located. We could not have a high school prom because of the power wielded by that church.

I have many family members that went there. The C o C has built "extra fences" around the basic commandments of the Bible. These grey areas have become LAW for them. It is maddenning. The act of baptism being the moment of salvation is but one example.
