Someone posted this on FSU message board regarding Fisher coming to UT ...

This is laughable because Jimbo & Hart do not get along

Can anyone shed any light on this and if there is any truth to it?

I have read the opposite that Fisher and Hart are friends. Fisher would be a great hire if Gruden is a no-go

Well considering the fact that Fisher has done nothing but produce mediocre results with top-notch talent while playing inferior opponents, I hope that FSU keeps him and we get a real top-notch coach.

So who is your top notch coach outside of Gruden?

Gary Patterson or Chris Peterson both have produced undefeated regular seasons at small schools, similar to what Meyer, Sumlin and Brian Kelly did and all three are having similar success at major programs

:salute: For the record, that wasn't my answer, just assuming what his answer would be.

Yah cause I'm as close minded as you, LOL. People need to get a grip and realize that hiring a coach that has produced mediocre results in weaker conferences aren't gonna come into UT and the SEC and do anything but more of the same or even worse.
Also I'm a UT fan just like you so why the attempt at attacking my intelligence? Shouldn't we be doing that to fans of other teams? Oh but that right, were suppose to be thrilled to just be mediocre again and that leaves us with no room to insult anyone but our fellow Vol fans.

Well are you counting Chizik and Dooley or even Kiffin ?

He's been in a much easier conference with more talent than any other team in his conference and still loses. He is one of if not the biggest under achiever in coaching.

Like it or not, were it not for Mountain Cody, Kiffen took a vastly undertalented Vol team courtesy of PF to Bammer and had them. Kiffen is not remotely close to the other two guys in coaching ability, her soars above them. Kiffen has morals that would make a billy goat puke and the Devil cry, but the guy can coach football. That SC with its scholly limitations is competitive is miracle, underflated pigskin and all. He's fired next year at SC unless he produces an NC IMO. Hayden wants a fresh start once the sanctions are gone, Kiffen is a caretaker unless he pulls the NC rabbit out of the hat.

Seems to me that the people who don't want Jimbo have heard they don't get along, but the people who do want Jimbo heard the opposite.

I don't care if Hart and Fisher are best friends. I don't want an under achiever walking our sidelines.

Please , 2012 was the first year of USC's sanctions as they appealed the decisions and the sanctions didn't start till this years freshmen class , so USC was hurt very little if any. He took the #1 ranked team in the nation and lost 5 games . It is also spelled Kiffin . .

It surprises me really. He has under achieved more than any coach in the nation.

LOL you don't know what you are talking about.

I don't think he is an elite coach but underachieving over any coach in the nation?

He inherited a team that barely had a winning season, and hadn't been relevant for a decade. Top recruiting classes for past 3 years. got Boosters to finance new player dorms, new Indoor Practice Facility. Has beaten UF 2/3, ND, and USCe. Should have FSU in a BCS bowl in year 3.

Fisher is not an outstanding gameday coach, but he has done an amazing job turning FSU around in player development/assessment, assistant hires, Booster support, and bringing the program back from the dumpster-fire that was Bowden's last 10 years.

I wouldn't say that Jimbo Fisher has underachieved at Florida State. It has taken him this long to build the program back up to being a winner. Yeah, they sucked in 2010 and 2011, but they did have excellent defenses, and this year they have a dynamic offense as is evidenced by their scoring, what, 26 on Florida, who has arguably the second best defense in the SEC?

C'mon now. You honestly think that Jimbo Fisher is worse than Charlie Strong? Think again. He's winning in a better football conference with more talented players than anything Strong ever dreamed of having. Fisher will modernize our offense and have strong recruiting classes from all over the Southeast and around the country.

Really? Go to scout and check out the past 5 years of recruiting classes. I'll help you out starting with 2012 back to 2008 they are respectively 11, 1, 9, 18 and 8. He has talent and depth and can't win a VERY weak ACC. But hey LOL all you want. You probably defended Dooley's Dumb A$$ too.

I agree with this analysis. There are plenty of great coaches around the country who aren't very adept at coming up with a great game plan but develop players well and are great at recruiting, and there are still others who are good at devising good game plans but can't recruit or develop NFL talent worth a damn. The first type, the one where I mentioned great recruiters and developers of talent but not necessarily are great strategists, is exemplified by Mark Richt and Les Miles. The latter example is Bob Stoops, who doesn't always finish in the top 10 in recruiting or develops that many NFL caliber players, is a great game day manager.

Then you have those who are like Saban and Urban Meyer who can both recruit and game plan well.
