You don't know much. Again recruiting to FSU is light years easier than recruiting to Louisville. Also what has your hero Fisher done with all his talent? I'll answer for you. He's under achieved every damned year.

So who do you want if we can't get Gruden?

Patterson would be my choice. Does more with less in a tough situation. TCU acceptance rate is 30% where public schools are 70% or higher. That cuts his recruiting base in half yet he over achieves by coaching up his players.

In a previous post you commented about how easy it is to recruit Florida kids to FSU, so now you are backing off of that statement and saying "oh, well what I really meant was that it's easy to recruit kids from Maryland and DC and Georgia and Tuscaloosa to Tallahassee"...

You know FSU's Defensive End Bjoern Werner? Fisher recruited him from Connecticut after playing only 2 years of high school football in the US. Fisher evaluates player talent as good as any coach in the country. Werner was a 3-star and is going to be a 1st round pick.

As for what he's done with all that talent. Well, this year HIS recruits are sophomores and juniors and are 2 quarters away from being undefeated. FSU was in the National Title hunt and has a chance to win the ACC and a BCS bowl game. I'd say that's pretty good...

Patterson would be my choice too because he's affordable. TCU's first season in the Big12 and they are 7-4 and probably 7-5 after Oklahoma... I think he's a decent coach, but let's not anoint him such an oustanding coach when they may have a losing Big12 record in his first season with the big boys.

I was going to say: offer Patterson a big pay raise and see what he says, but then I check and he's making about $3 million now--lots more than I would have expected at TCU. We'd have to offer him 4+, but I'd do it. He can only say no. Otherwise, it would seem Fisher and Strong may be our best bets--unless there is an NFL coordinator who's interested. I think Gruden is going to stiff us--and that's the latest word.

At this point, I'll take the talent he''ll bring and a chance at 9-10 wins a year...maybe breakthrough for a big win here and there...

You'd have to be a damned fool to not realize that FSU has had the most talent in the ACC by a HUGE margin and still loses. FSU had the easiest road to the national title and flopped yet again. He's a over rated piece of garbage and I hope we don't get his under achieving a$$ on our sideline.

and I hope we do , if for no other reason than to piss you off :):)

The last thing we need is a mediocre coach that wins just enough not to be fired.
