Can’t close our top OL targets.

Heupel is a nice guy, and we all know what the saying is about where nice guys finish. This staff is too soft when it comes to pushing for commitments. You need big uglies to win in the SEC. Maybe Heupel likes flashy offense too much to understand that. If things don’t change, we’ll be chasing the mighty Dawgs until the end of days. Even Beamer is crootin better than us.

Football forum guys getting lost in recruiting forum I see

Take the complaining about 11-2 Orange Bowl seasons, 10 NFL draft picks, talent and depth at every position heading into the fall somewhere else

In this forum, we care not about misery but about facts and the future. Long way to NSD!

Go Vols!

Rushing is a little unfair as is Mauigoa. We got in late on Rushing and just got outbid for Mauigoa. According to On3 though we have a better NIL collective than Miami/Ruiz. It’s the other misses that hurt (Jared Verse, Lucas Simmons, Stanton Ramil, Vic Burley, Kamarion Franklin, Kam Fountain, Marques Easley, and Bennett Warren). Elarbee couldn’t close the door of a deep freezer and while RG did a phenomenal job with Tyre West and Daevin Hobbs he's not done worth a damn this cycle. Insiders said towards the end of last years recruiting cycle that we wouldn’t see the rewards of last years success until this year because the staff spent a lot more time developing relationships with the 2024 class than the remaining uncommitted players late in 2023. That doesn’t seem to be the case though. I don’t think it’s on Heupel being too nice though. I just don’t think Elarbee can recruit and Spyre has too much invested across our entire athletic department rather than focusing almost entirely on football like they should. I don’t think the sky is falling, but at the moment Mike Matthews, Jordan Ross, Cai Bates, Danny Okoye, Edwin Spillman, William Satterwhite, and Amari Jefferson are must gets. I don’t care about Braylen Russell with Lewis already on board, and landing a top 5 OT and DT through the portal are now essential. If not we’re in trouble at those positions come 2025. Which was the year we were on pace to win an SEC Championship going into this off-season in my opinion

Nwaneri -- moved focus away from
Rushing -- got in late and was never THE team to beat
Mauigoa -- NIL from Miami
but keep cooking my man

Let’s get facts straight. We were not suppose to get Rushing. We were the fight but at no point were we “suppose” to get him. Mauigos were in the fight for but got outbid. Don’t let facts get in the way of your story though.

Umm we did land the number 1 overall recruit in the country last year who plays the most important position on the field.....
Bought* if he truly wanted to be here based solely on the program and university he would’ve sacrificed some of that 8M to secure the top OL in the country. Also it doesn’t matter how good he is if we can’t keep him upright

I think his point is that we sign very few 5 * recruits. we just aren't there yet, may never be.

we will never sign the 5 *'s until we get better recruiters. How long is our retort gonna be "We got the best player in the country last yr."

our best strategy for now is to develop players better than Ga. and Bama. Don't know if that will ever happen on a consistent basis, maybe here and there .

This place goes from one extreme to the other.

At one point, we may have had a good shot at Nwaneri, but I don't think we were ever in the lead ... and bringing up Francis Mauigoa from IMG, makes it seem like you just want to be negative. He was from last year's class.

We need elite edge defensive guys and offensive linemen and we ain’t getting them it’s frustrating.
Did you forget that we got Max Anderson last week? And getting Satterwhite tomorrow? And leading for Ross and Okoye? And Franklin?
Serious question, are you 15 years old? That would make sense
