'19 FL CB Travis Jay

The worst is investing valuable energy here at the close of nsd on supreme long shots. Im all for recruiting them all and being relentless but its time to narrow the focus imo.
So they should waste their time recruiting players that are already coming to Tennessee? Makes sense. Last I checked you can't get guys you don't go after, and with only a few spots left going after the best available guys possible is the way to go

Cool story bro.

Cool story bro.
If you don't see the upside in sending the full court press on a player like Jay when there's only a few spots left and Wright appears to be one of them and Russell will be a Vol if the staff wants him then you're an absolute moron. Right now the recruiting board should be
1. Wright
2. Jay
3. To'oto'o
4. Moore
Bogle would be 2nd out of the guys we're still recruiting, but he's basically a Miami lock. I think Wright is a Tennessee lock, but the staff can't let him slip away. Pickens would be a great pickup also but I think that ship has sailed. Considering Jay will be in Knoxville during the Bama basketball game and already has a good relationship with members of the staff there's a chance they could make it happen. Especially if momma comes along and Pruitt can get an in-home visit

Yeah lets full court press a florida cb who is committed to FSU sounds like a likely flip.

Who else should the staff go after? Some guy with a half dozen FCS offers and maybe Appy State and Memphis that may not ever play a down for Tennessee? The fact he hasn't signed with them and is taking a visit means there's a chance

Yes sure, hopefully Kelly's relationship will be enough to pull one of them, just don't get your hopes up.

Lol, I don’t post on here much but trust me, I’m a pessimist, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten my hopes up about anything.

You are the minority.

Some insider will drop a cryptic hint about Jay or Dent the week of signing day and then Hubbs will say there is a chance and everyone will go bananas and then they will both sign with FSU and everyone will be pissed and depressed.

Still doesn't mean the staff shouldn't do everything they can to get him

If they HAVE been doing everything since they got to UT as a staff to get him, then I say put on more steam and see what happens. If its "Hey Chuck we need a corner go see who you can call that hasn't signed yet." then I'm not expecting much.

So everything you know about his recruitment was listed in that post....maybe, maybe the coaches ACTUAL CONVERSATIONS with him and his family lead them to a more thorough knowledge of the young man's thoughts about where he might play college football. I know, it's crazy.
