‘23 FL DT John Walker

Lighting a torch? No way. The guy is a DB so he wanted to play for the greatest DB to ever play.

Why is it so hard to fathom that a player may like a certain school or coach over many others? Not saying that’s the reason. But it definitely could be.
So, what motivates a DT to pick an offensive coach? Is Walker planning on switching to offense? Do you know something no one else does?

The kids mom wants him close to home
So why not Miami? I'm just honestly curious why he's picking UCF? You can make it to the NFL from any school. The league will find you. But I'm always curious when such a highly rated talent picks a school like UCF. I would guess he'd be a take at Miami or FSU. (Screw the gators.)

Also, do you actually have insight here, or are you guessing?

"No way".

Holy hell dude...🤣.
Do you even realize what you insinuated??

1) He did it for MANY reasons- going to an HBCU for other black athletes to follow was indeed a main reason.

2) Why do you always create borders of absolute when they don't exist? You did the same thing with Nico!
- "You guys are all idiots that said Nico just signed for the money. He committed because he loves damn Tennessee Vols!"
Uhm NEWSFLASH! IT'S BOTH....

Hunter is at JSU for MANY reasons- one being very important to his personal culture aof being a black athlete with the world in front of him, but chose to give back to a "trailblazing " college. You undermine his dignity by saying "no way".

I have no idea. That’s why I said maybe he likes UCF and Malzahan. Maybe it’s NIL. I don’t know. Just because Gus is an offensive coach doesn’t mean defensive guys won’t like him. Again, why is it so hard to imagine that this guy just may love UCF and Malzahan?

He’s from like 20 minutes from UCF’s campus. And momma wants him close to home. Some people are speculating that momma might change her tune if she visits any other close by campuses. But the reason he chose UCF is it’s what his momma wants

You know what, I’m good here not landing this guy. If he has mom’s tit firmly still in his mouth it’s unlikely to go well for him anywhere but close to home.

Tell me you’re salty without saying you’re salty
Not salty at all just a DA decision imo. If the kid goes to Miami or another major Florida school so be it. Dumb to go to UCF imo but it’s his decision, his happiness. If that makes him happy whatever.

You never know what a kid's home situation is (unless you know him personally). There could be a situation that requires that he be closer to home. Especially if there isn't big NIL money being offered.

I mean, if it really is about proximity, UCF makes some sense. Maybe someone in his family is sick and he wants to be close by? I can't fault a guy for that. And you can make the league from any school. But in no way do I believe he's picking UCF because of Gus.

Better UCF than UF. Gainesville is closer to where he lives than Miami or Tallahassee.

UCF is a good school. My sister went there and I was able to see a couple games when Daunte Culpepper was the QB. Good times. They’re a different level now and becoming formidable in the state. Much like TCU and Baylor to the big boys over there.

🤷‍♂️ I asked Nico that question last week. He said “of course Nil was the reason he committed to the Vols”. Duh!
