'21 FL DT Marquis Robinson (Mizzou commit)

I know we had some tough post when Covid started but just wanted to say I do enjoy your insight and as you can see, you are not on ignore but I may be. Anyway, appreciate you as a poster.

And for the record, I liberally apply the button to people who are trolling or pathologically negative. I do not apply it to people I disagree with. Truth is, we would agree on 90%, it's just that we are both old enough to have strong opinions, so when we disagree it's pretty clear. I'm sure I would enjoy having a beer with you if the opportunity presented.

Yeah, I was just wondering if Garner chose to recruit Robinson over the dude that committed to mizzou, or if they just beat us out for him.
Wouldn’t you be better off assuming that to be the case if we actually had a player thread on him…

I don’t think we were recruiting matthews…. Robinson was the higher rated recruit out of high school.

Auburn DL transfer Marquis Robinson is scheduled to wrap up his visit to Tennessee today after arriving in Knoxville on Saturday. He also traveled to Missouri before his visit with the Vols, and based on everything I’ve been told, there’s a good chance he will be picking a new school and enrolling there in the very near future. Monday is the drop/add deadline for spring-semester classes at Tennessee, so if he wants to join the Vols this semester, he will have to start classes on Monday.

After talking with a couple of sources today, I’m not ready to say anything is a done deal, but I think there’s at least a good chance he will end up choosing Tennessee. It sounds like there’s a pretty strong relationship and plenty of trust between Robinson and Vols DL coach Rodney Garner — who previously recruited Robinson to Auburn — and Robinson’s family seems to feel good about the possibility of him reuniting with Garner, too.

It’s also worth noting that Missouri just landed one of Robinson’s fellow Auburn DL transfers, Ian Matthews, from the transfer portal. So I think that’s another sign that things are looking pretty positive for the Vols in regard to Robinson.

We’ll pass along any additional updates as we get them.
