'21 FL DT Marquis Robinson (Mizzou commit)

Big decision for sure. If Marquis does not like cold weather which I don’t either, he will not like Columbus, Ohio. Best of luck to him on his decision. Vols really need him in the rotation.

Not a big decision……if he doesn’t like it, he can always keep transferring…..;)

Between the two schools he visited over the weekend, he hinted that Tennessee might have the upper hand over Missouri coming off his weekend visits.
“Missouri — I don’t want to say nothing bad about any school, for real,” Robinson said. “But I will say there’s a difference in Missouri and Tennessee — I mean, big difference. Facilities and, like, the way Missouri runs their staff and the strength staff and the way Tennessee runs it is totally different.”

I mean, that screams Vol to me.

As voltwitters pedo meth head likes to say, LESSSS GO!!!
makes it even more impressive that Mizzou has landed the class they have. Dang.

Apparently Mizzou has a lot more money around that program than I gave them credit for. Plus their state had sone really good prospects in the ‘22 class.

Except he said he wants to go to the playoffs. That’s why he wants to go to Ohio St and is having a tough decision (maybe).

If he’s going to OSU he’s already missed the deadline to enroll it appears. According to their calendar they’ve been back at class for two weeks.

EDIT: they do have a second spring semester in March it appears, but this semester started on Jan 10th
Difference is, the SEC has a rule that you can’t transfer within the conference after Spring

Edit: have to be in the portal by 1 Feb. So he’s ok. He might wait until Summer semester to decide

If he were smart he would enroll at TN to go through spring practice. I assume that would not be an option if he went to Ohio St route. Critical for a guy like him to go through spring

Wait. So if players from other SEC schools enter the portal in the Spring, we can't pursue them? The one-time transfer rule doesn't negate that? Didn't we get some SEC players from the portal after Spring last year? Turnage and Hadden?

Sounds like the same old, same old story. What good is a championship without playing time IF you want to play on Sundays ?? Generally speaking, if you are good enough for the next level, SEC exposure and experience, along with playing time is the best route. So WHAT does he have to “think” about? JMO.

They instituted that rule this year. Have to be in the portal by 1 Feb. Swain specifically used them as an example of what we can’t do this year

Players must be in the portal by Feb 1st to be eligible to transfer to other SEC schools.

Due to the timing of the one-time transfer rule last year, the SEC made an one-time exception and allowed players to enter the portal by June 1st.
