Man, some of you have a hard on for Florida all the sudden.

Pretty sickening.

Yeah that’s clearly it. Lol. You say stuff like this anytime someone posts something about another team. Hate to break it to you but saying something positive about one of our rivals doesn’t mean anything. It doesn’t change one’s level of fandom for TN.

With our staff and current roster I would take their class over ours in a heartbeat right now. We already have Tayven Jackson who I think will be elite and future studs on the edge with Pearce and Joseph. You need a great QB to win championships, but that doesn’t mean you need a top 3 QB out of HS. The best QBs in the NFL right now were ranked outside of the top 10 QBs in their class out of HS, and Georgia just won a national championship with a walkon against Heisman trophy winning QB because they had a well rounded roster. Also the game is won in the trenches and Florida’s DL class is as good as anyone’s in the country. Granted they don’t have Tayven and Pearce on their current roster, but think the players in their class would help us more than our current class. Because I personally don’t think Nico is going to make the immediate impact people think he will simply because of how good Jackson will be after a year in this system. Also of Florida’s 20 commitments 12 are top 300 players and 18 are 4 stars With ours that number is 7 of our 20 commitments. Star ratings aren’t everything, but I think you get my point
The only thing I am seeing is that you are a UF fan on a Vol site. I wouldn’t trade our class with there’s. And Nico starts next year and lights it up. He is an NFL talent and this offense is made for him. Our three star corners are recruited by everyone. Stars aren’t everything.

People staring at stars make me laugh. Our wide receiver class was amazing last year. I don’t think people realize how good our class of receivers was. They may not have all those stars but they will be a force soon rather than later. Add Seldon and others from this year and yikes.

I would like to have some of their DL. But other than that, I take our class all day.

When you’re landing arguably the best QB in the class and arguably the best edge class, I’m fine with it. Biggest issue with this class left was CB which is being addressed. WR again I do not care what the ratings are, Heupel will put up video game stats with whoever is on the field at that position.

Florida is recruiting well no doubt but I wouldn’t trade positions with them. Most important position on offense and defense has been addressed better by Tennessee thus far imo. Idk why people get all worked up over rankings then are shocked when Florida comes up with a good class. It would be more shocking if they didn’t with all the instate and regional talent that is right there for them to grab.

Ehh our class is pretty equal to their class overall. Their class is better at WR and DL. Both of us have missed on top OL targets. Our QB>their QB by a mile. I don’t honestly know how their quarterback is a four star. His offer list is terrible and he’s small.

People will pump up their class but it’s almost an exact replica of Mullens 2019 class. Lots of mid to low ranked four stars. What people don’t understand in recruiting is players in that 200-500 range are the same quality of player. Four stars vs three stars only matter if the four stars you are getting are top 200 players.

In addition, there is no way anyone knows anything until we see people play.

And every program has different needs.

I keep saying this over and over, but you need to be concerned about recruiting because as Pat Summit once said, "you can't win the Kentucky Derby riding a donkey".

However, you are not winning the SEC on talent alone. LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, etc. are all going to be bringing talent to the table. So, it's just a matter of making sure you get yours.

I’ll agree with you. I think most SEC teams are pretty even on talent and it comes down to scheme and development. Of course Bama and Georgia have been recruiting on a different level and so was Texas AM last season.

We only have 1 corner in this class and of all of our DBs only Gibson and Smith “are recruited by everybody”. No program Tennessee should aspire to be wanted Conyer. Slaughter and Luttrell have a few good offers, but I think both of them will be damn good players. I’m not so sure about Conyer though. He has the tools to be a good star, but he’s not going to fill the void we have at corner. I think Gibson will be a stud and getting Matthews would be huge though. Either way me ranting isn’t going to change any of that. I’m just saying I think Florida has a better class and that Jackson will be our starter for at least a year after Hooker is gone

You seem to have a very strong hatred for conyer. Every time you speak on him you end up hating on him

I’m not hating on him. I’m hating on the staff recruiting him as a corner. Until he committed no recruiting service even had him listed as a corner. They were all either putting him as an ATH/S. The staff also apparently had him number 2 at that position on their board behind Strozier when they started building this class. I actually think he has a lot of potential at the star. The problem is we already have plenty of depth at that spot. So I’m not sure why they had him so high on their board. I think a lot of that has to do with Banks and Martinez “not wanting corners or safeties, but wanting defensive backs”. Which sounds like something Elmer Fudd would say. While I agree that it’s nice to have a couple of utility guys that can fill in at multiple spots if a guy goes down you have to have true cover corners starting for your defense at at least 1 backup that’s a true corner in today’s game

In his highlights he gives up a lot of slants and I think his recovery speed looks a lot better than it really is because of poorly thrown balls. There also aren’t a lot of defensive highlights in a 3:30 highlight video. That being combined with the fact Kentucky doesn’t have the greatest high school competition in the world is a major concern to me. I know the staff saw him in camp, but I also saw video on here of him getting absolutely toasted by a Kentucky WR commitment that’s a 3*. I just feel like there aren’t enough plays on his highlights that jump out to warrant all the excitement this fanbase has over him, and highlights normally consist of a player’s top 10-15% of their plays. So I would imagine the remaining 85-90% aren’t the greatest

I don’t know why everyone is so preoccupied with Florida’s recruiting. Yes they’re on a heater and Napier is known for being a good recruiter, the polar opposite of Mullen. Plus their NIL game is one of the best.

This isn’t signing day and if Florida gets kicked around the bottom of the SEC they’ll inevitably lose some of these blue chips. If we can stick them at Neyland and they have a rough season they won’t hold on to everyone. Their fans won’t be happy if Napier’s team gets kicked around and they’ll be calling for his head.

I have no issues with receivers. Heck, Heupel could take 2 star receivers and I’d be happy as long as that’s who he wanted because he could take a 2 star and turn him into a 5 star with his system. And that’s what he did with Ced. I do however want some stars along the lines yes.

For me, it’s because I despise Florida. I never want to see their name above TN in anything EVER.
