I count 59 returning. That counts 2 kickers (Carver and Wilson), the walk-on Garland (assuming he was put on scholarship), and Dayne Davis. Also includes Hooker and Tillman returning, but not Mays.
That leaves room for 26. And some others will leave before August.
Wonder if you would look at the list provided by LWSVOL over in the FF forum #75 in the Jamyr Gibbs thread. He listed 67 and you are stating we are down to 59. Like to get those numbers reconciled. Thanks...
People are questioning Cooper Mays at C? Geez just off technique alone kid made Line better than not. Dont be ridiculous.Agree completely.
Spraggins is a mauler - see Trey Smith. Could Trey place center well? Intellectually - yes. Physically - no. Spraggins is a no on both.
Carvin is versatile and a great back-up at center. Will help his NFL value and he will probably have a long, successful career - as a G. He has been adequate at C, not good.
Coop is young, inexperienced and was hurt last season. But that gets forgotten when building a narrative. He will get healthy, bigger and stronger. You always put your most cerebral, mobile, good snapping O-lineman at C. That's Coop. He fits this system and it needs that. Counters, traps, screen action, etc. all fit a mobile C.
I guess that's a good question - a lb recently, Bailey and others earlier - when exactly is the cutoff ?
It totals 6 so you are missing someone I think.
