FL LB DeMario Tolan (LSU commit)

So, every time that you guys consider a career change, you consult with staff?
If I were as important to the image of my company as a HC is the image of a football program.... no. I would not announce my decision via text while my sales people were in front of clients.
That’s a good way for word to get out and get yourself fired.
I thought programs had to tell other programs when they reached out to coaches under contract?
I know that these guys operate in rarefied air with great contracts (as long as you’re winning), but perceived disloyalty generally gets rewarded likewise in my industry.
Want to flesh that out a little more? Who has been rewarded for disloyalty, how, and why?

I don't actually think BK did wrong here by ND. He got an offer and they apparently chose not to counter. I'm fine with that. I actually support both sides in that. But he shouldn't have left assistant coaches in front of recruits trying to sell the program then having to pivot and do damage control.

Prolly wouldn’t even have to utilize it. We released several signees from their LOI.
I meant for Tolan to leave LSU. The portal and lack of penalty for leaving the first time would make it easy trot him to bolt if Kelly tried to pull a fast one by retaining his position coach until after signing day and then firing him.

Loose lips do sink ships, but when your performance at a job, as the top man, is predicated on the strength and cohesion of the staff working under you - to the same degree it is on your own skill - you would think not isolating all of them would be a decent idea.

Regardless, Kelly is getting paid (so he wins), and the key players on his staff appear to have all decided to stay at ND (so I guess they win, too).

Not disagreeing. Just saying he prolly wouldn't have to utilize it to get out from under. If Brooks were ever to want to jet from Auburn, I think his exception is still intact.

So are those going to be his coaches or nah? I mean Brian Kelly could come in home but it was just to be to kick the dog and knock over a lamp.
Probably. Kelly will probably retain much of the staff because zero members of his ND staff would follow him.

Yes, next week before he OVs in Knoxville next weekend.
I may be getting the OV mixed up with West. But heupel for sure in home next week with Tolan
Believe Tolan already OV. Heupel with in home still...

Again, dude's a Vol. I trust Heupel to go into the living room and land this kid more than I do Kelly.

Wish I thought it was between the 2.
I distrust our boosters to come through more than anyone’s .

As for guys who are not going to be in town this weekend, LSU commitment Demario Tolan will be back in Baton Rouge next weekend to give new head coach Brian Kelly a shot. Tennessee has surged in his recruitment and if he is not going to end up a Tiger then we believe the Vols are in the best position possible. Tolan has been one that loves the visits so it will be interesting to watch this one. Tennessee was in Tolan’s home on Wednesday night and LSU was in Thursday night. Vol head coach Josh Heupel is set to go in home next week.
