“My final plans are I’m headed up to Tennessee this weekend,” said Tolan, who’s ranked the No. 193 overall prospect and No. 20 linebacker in the 2022 class, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
“It died down but never really stopped,” he said. “But Tennessee, obviously, they’re having a great season. Coach Heupel is showing how he can elevate the team and elevate Tennessee, and I just wanted to get another look at it and get another look at the atmosphere — things like that.
“It really started from how Coach Heupel’s really been blowing it up with the offense since the beginning of the season. That’s really been a big thing for me. Their offense, I feel like they could start winning a lot. Whenever I get there, or if so, the defense will be popping.”
“Coach BJ, after the ‘Bama game, he really came directly and was like, ‘You clearly were the missing piece,’ and he feels like he needs me and another linebacker to be great at that school on the defensive side,” Tolan said, referring to Jean-Mary.
“That’s another big thing: I want to see how they do against the number-one team in the country, which can show their potentially, really, by getting a close-up look at it and seeing how the coaches get and the atmosphere whenever they play big-time teams,” Tolan said. “That’s a big thing for it all.”
callahan“LSU has always been a place I always wanted to go, so that’s not really a big factor right now,” Tolan said. “But now that Coach O is gone, I still have to see my options and take another look before it all ends.”
