FL @ Miami

Really.

During the spurrier era, Florida, FSU and Miami were in the top 5 nationally in wins.

Since 1980, all three are in the top 4 nationally in wins.

Keep telling yourself what you want, but I'm afraid you are wrong.

During the Spurrier era? Back when there were 3 Division I programs in FL? Back when UCF was I-AA? Back when S FL, FIU and FL Atl didn't even field a football team?

Yeah...now there's 7 Division I teams in FL, 2 of which went from no football to Div I football overnight. This ain't the 90s anymore.

If I had stock in UF, I'd be dumping it right now.

It should also be noted that, the last time the "Big 3" FL teams were good, UT was also very good.

And did you know that, in all-time wins, FL ranks 21st, Miami is 52nd and FSU is 91st? This is due to their lack of history. This tells me that, when you start a program in FL, it doesn't take long to become successful. Did I mention there are now 7 Division I teams in FL?

USF and UCF occasionally land a recruit that UF and FSU are after, but its fairly rare, and its certainly never in such numbers as to make those programs a real drain on the talent for the bigger programs.

While a strong UCF program by definition is going to be competitive with the likes of a C-USA type bunch of teams, it is never going to seriously threaten to derail the success of Florida or FSU.

The long term health and viability of Miami is still in doubt. I don;t ever see them dominating like they did in the 80's. And probably it would only take one more significant sanctions or even threat of sanctions set-back to doom them to perma-also ran status.

I can't tell you how many recruits have passed on Florida, FSU or Miami to attend ucf, fiu, usf, and fau.

It's gotten to the point where if one of those schools offers a scholarship, Florida, FSU, and Miami don't even bother. They just move on to the next one.

In fact, Florida is probably going to drop FSU soon and add fiu to improve their strength of schedule

FSU will agree because dropping Florida for fau will also help their schedule

Plus every prized recruit wants to hang out in Boca Raton. Got a good Toojay's there.

I wouldn't expect any of the Gator fans to be agreeing. Predictable posts are predictable.

Forgive us.

We've been hearing about the downfall of Florida football from vol fans for years.

And we have to hear it while Florida goes to bcs bowl games and Tennessee has losing seasons

Not to mention the complete ownership on the field

Some of the UT fans here measure UF by a different standard than their own team.

If UT came off an 11-2 season ranked in the Top 10, they'd laugh at a UF fan saying he'd "dump his UT stock".

I think he means the dumping of the uf stock is because they are top in Florida right now . With the looks that fsu and Miami are about to have good teams. Florida could lose to Miami and fsu. That would change the recruiting in Florida a little. And if the gators lose like two or 3 in a row to fsu. Fsu is now the hometown place to be. The bandwagon effect

I'm not sure what Toojay's is so that might be why I don't understand this, but Boca is beautiful. I'm sure many recruits would love that area if they actually went to see it. IMO it's a much better area than Gainesville or Knoxville.

When is Miami going to hear about their punishment? Has this been made public yet? Forgive me if something has already been handed down...haven't kept up with much of it.

I swear, some of you guys just don't get how the system works. You want SEC teams that you play to win every OOC game. Its just how things work.

Would you rather play a Florida team with a winning or losing record? smh
