I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here but I think you're underestimating Kiff in this kid's recruiting. First off, he is an excellent recruiter. Anyone who doubts that has forgotten the class he brought in here in his one year in a short period. Yeah he had a great recruiting staff behind him, but he's effective with the kids and talks their language. On top of that you're forgetting that he just spent a couple of years building relationships in Florida. The professionals talk about how important it is to build relationships with the HS coaches and he just spent two years down there doing a decent job with a small program. (It almost makes me gag to say that.)
Now personally I think the guy is human scum who doesn't even remotely understand the definition of integrity. But that's not what these 18 year old kids think about.
The one thing we've got going fo us is distance from Venice and home but there's not a whole lot of difference between Knoxville and Oxford.
Hopefully the kid listens to Pruitt and understands he's playing a position where we have an absolute need so he's going to see PT in his freshman year for a team on the rise versus one that is in a serious rebuild and recovering from NCAA penalties.
Finally, I see someone saying they want Ole Miss to be good and hurt Bama. That's the last thing you want unless you want to say goodbye to recruiting Memphis. That's the difference from being 1 1/2 hours from home and 5 hours from home for those Memphis kids. Mom can drive down, watch the game and be back home for bedtime. It's a hard enough sell already, a resurgent Ole Miss would be awful for us. (In reality there are 5 SEC schools closer to Memphis than Knoxville and LSU is about the same distance.) Go read the Memphis paper sometime, it talks about Ole Miss almost as much as UT.
