Living on the west coast since '75 (graduated in '73), I was visiting home in East Tennessee and a fraternity bro surprised me with a ticket to a UT game. It was 1998 and the game was with Florida. Dear old buddies and watching Peyton and some serious, head knockin' men with orange "T's" on their head gear...sending Spurrier's boys home with broken hearts...can't beat it. Needless to say, despite all the fantastic games I'd watched in Neyland for four years as a student, this one topped them all. I'm now in South Carolina and recovering from heart surgery and further complications, so I'd like my fellow VFL's to do me a fave and lay out some shouts for those of us who're expecting October 4th, 2014 to surpass my best UT football experience. 'Wish I could contribute to the checkerboard. Mister Hurd, smack that boy so he doesn't wanna' get up! Go Vols and all my brother and sister VFL's!:clapping:

Bulletin Board Material. Nothing else. We ALL know how competitive Jalen Hurd is everyday. He will hear this indirectly, probably from AJ, who says, I will take a snap on offense and wreck that fool. New mini thread... who can punish Florida's D more in the wildcat? AJ or JHURD? (hypothetically)

Umm, we didn't play Florida between 1975 and 1990 except for twice I think, so its not quite as bad as the picture you paint.

But yes, we need to beat the ever-living @#$# out of FL Saturday.

Our boys grew up the last two games. After the first quarter of the Oklahoma game, that starry eyed look left out guys faces and the have been "getting with it" since. They haven't been in awe of OU and Ga. They play the entire game, and will continue to do so, we break out this Saturday. Fla players are talking s..t but our guys are past that now.

It worked for them all through the 90s. We had the more talented team in 93, 96, and 97 and got embarrassed.

I wish he had kept his mouth shut, especially since the defense hasn't done anything to back up any talk at all.

I got a bad feeling about this game, especially if Driskel plays like he did the last 2 games.

Here's to a good game with no injuries.

Im here in Charleston and was in School at UT in 1998. those were great times. Best of luck with your health. You'll be back in Neyland watching the Vols soon.

I read his previous post to mean he was posting from the hospital as he was having health problems. He blamed the Peyton reference to the 1998 win on his meds at the hospital. Cut the guy some slack.
