God bless America. It is their god given right to make asses out of themselves. Video footage will now follow them through out life.

I am a firm believer in freedom of speech, but an even a bigger supporter of freedom of speech against someone's speech you dont agree with. Stop burning the flag.

They do have the right to express themselves but if it was neo-nazis burning the rainbow "gay rights" flag these same people would be up in arms complaining how intolerant that is! In some cases they are trust fund kids rebelling against the fact their parents worked their butts off to obtain some status in the world and are using their money to go to school and make an a$$ of themselves!

I served my country for 6 long years to give these wastes the right to burn the American flag. I respect their right and disrespect them for doing it. They drink from the well of freedom until they are full....then they piss in it. I doubt anyone there has ever truly sacrificed anything. But that is what makes this country great.

No, that is what makes this country "socially weak" imo. Thank you for all that you did and God Bless. The younger generations are full of disrespectful uninformed idiots that have radical ideas about the world they live in. Its a shame.

What do you suggest? There have been societies in the not so distant past (and current ones) where this kind of protest would get you beaten and/or killed. I would not like to live in those societies.

Oh I agree Vader, 100%. The 60's and even some during the early 80's were difficult times for the American public. We dropped the ball somewhere and the youth of America is desperately looking for a cause, any cause they can find. They want to complain because complaining gets pacified. It is much easier to be "given" something than "earning" something. This mentality is at an all time high and stretches far beyond the racial, social, economic, or academic boundaries. I hope I am not sounding like a "doomsday" theorist as I am certainly not one.

protests have been happening in this country before there was a USA. To say it's better/worse now is a big stretch.

I didnt. I suggested there were other times that faced similar hardships. I would not have enjoyed living then nor am I satisfied with our current situation. I was born in 1980 so maybe, what the hell do I know.
