Florida should have made a run at Gaston Moore or Navy Shuler. Would be a big improvement

I thought Mertz did about as well as he could considering the situation. He has no dynamic receivers. His OLine couldn't protect him and committed dumb penalties. Their offense just doesn't have the pieces.

I think there is some young talent there. I think the defense is better, which is hard to gauge with Rising out. But, I do think they are better.

The main issue I have were some self-inflicted mistakes, but people would be surprised how often that has always occurred. You remember them when you aren't good because you can't overcome them.

One of my biggest issues is that with all of the talent that I know is there at the skill positions, they gave touches to people who have no business getting touches. How does Dante Zanders get the ball on a play designed exclusively for him on 4th down?

That's the stuff that I am most concerned about.

That's the most telling, and disturbing, Stat of the game for UF. The running game was just .... absent.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to watch it with a lot of consistency bc I’m a spectrum customer and I was watching it on YouTube off and on, but it seemed there was a lot of pressure on Mertz . If the run game won’t work then the play action won’t be there and people will just tee off on Mertz all season .

I have no idea what your team is trying to accomplish on offense. There seems to be zero continuity in the game plan.
